They quoted me an hours labour for diagnosis but even that cost was covered once i wen't to pick up the car. Hope you have a similar experience. #3 · Feb 22, 2014

There are 4 error codes that relate to Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201). Where have you read that? #4 · Feb 22, 2014 Hi read it online & in forums there is loads of info available. #5 · Feb 23, 2014 Yes VW dealers are replacing the ABS control unit under VW's good will system. Book your car in with them to see if you qualify and to do so you need to have this code stored. 01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) - electric complaint in the circuit Possible Causes Brake Pedal Switch (F) faulty/jammed Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) faulty Possible Solutions Check/Replace Brake Pedal Switch (F) Check/Replace Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) ABS Hydraulic Unit (N55) may need to replaced Perform Brake Pump Bleeding Perform Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) Basic Setting Replace Brake Electronics Control Module (J104) Special Notes When found in MK60 ABS/ESP Brake Systems, check if the Repair Kit documented in TPI 2024465/3 with the Part Number 1K0 698 517 B is compatible, using the Repair Kit allows to replace the Hydraulic Unit (N55) and the Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) separate from the Control Module which will reduce the Repair Costs. They can get funny if the cars brake fluid chnage record is not up to date. #6 · Mar 3, 2014 Hi all and thanks for the comments - just an update and further advice required !!! VW took the car in and ran a diagnostic and low and behold they repaired free of charge - however when i collected the car the steering assist light was on - they took the car back in and stated that the steering angle sensor and steering column needed replacing with a total cost of £388 !!! they say the steering angle sensor is giving a reading of 0 degrees and cannot understand why it is showing a fault as when linked to diagnostic machine there is not an issue !!! They state that it must have had an underlying fault and this has come to light since battery disconnected - they state that they have never worked anywhere near the part !!!! BUT the light has never been illuminated in the 2 years i have had the car ...... I am led to believe that this light is always on after battery has been disconnected - does anyone know how to reset it ??? or do i need VCDS diagnostic man back to reset it ??? Thanks in anticipation.... #7 · Mar 29, 2014 I have a 06 golf diesel with 93k on the clock.Same issue with the esp light on permanently.Phoned VW customer care and they advised I book the car in for a diagnostic check. They called to tell me the repair had been done and warranted under the goodwill scheme.they also cleaned the car for me .Well done Sinclair VW in Bridgend and VW. #8 · Mar 29, 2014 It was sinclair in bridgend i used for the same fault and the service was excellent.
