Roles & Playstyle of Xiangling and Her Strengths and Weakness
Off-Field DPS Xiangling
Xiangling's best role is as the Off-Field Pyro DPS for Vaporize or Melt. Her Elemental Burst can do powerful Pyro damage and has a long duration. With a good Hydro/Cryo applier on field, her damage can outdo some of the meta DPS characters.
Pros and Cons of Off-Field DPS Xiangling
Pros
- One of her best weapons is F2P and does amazing for her Elemental Burst damage.
- Any Hydro catalyst can be used as Hydro driver for her. Notably, Barbara is free and can be used as driver.
Cons
- High Energy cost in her Elemental Burst requires high ER and Particle funneling. This is slightly alleviated by her BiS equipment but it can be difficult to master in rotations.
- Best with melee or mid-ranged Hydro/Cryo characters.

Main: CRIT Rate or DMG Sub: CRIT DMG / CRIT Rate / Energy Recharge / ATK%
For Sub-Stats, CRIT Stats and Energy Recharge Work the Best
Xiangling is built like the standard DPS but Energy Recharge is prioritized more than ATK. This is because of Emblem Of Severed Fate's effect that incentivizes ER because it allows for better Burst uptime and boosts the damage of her Elemental Burst.

Basic Rotation For Xiangling
1. Use Energy funneling character to generate Particles.2. Switch to Xiangling and use her Elemental Burst.3. Use Elemental Skill.4. Switch to reaction driver.
Xiangling's rotation in the team changes after the first rotation since you'll have to build up Energy for her. She'll have to use a few Normal Attacks and Elemental Skill to gain Energy until she can use her Burst again.
Basics Of Using Xiangling
Deals Powerful Off-Field Pyro Damage with her Elemental Burst
Xiangling's most notable feature of her kit is her Elemental Burst. With a Hydro or Cryo On-Fielder, her Elemental Burst can deal extremely powerful damage with Vaporize or Melt. It's also good for maintaining a Pyro aura on enemies.
High Damage and High Energy Cost
One of Xiangling's downsides is her high Energy cost of 80. This makes building Energy Recharge on her vital. Other characters can be used for funneling Particles or giving her Energy. See below for recommended characters to team with Xiangling:
Character
Detail
Bennett
- Can activate Pyro Resonance to buff the ATK of the team.- Bennett's lower Energy cost allows him to funnel Energy particles to Xiangling instead with his Elemental Skill.
Chevreuse
- Can activate Pyro Resonance to buff the ATK of the team.- Doesn't strictly need her Elemental Burst per rotation and she can hold Favonius to generate more Particles for Xiangling.- Best used in an Overload team.
Raiden Shogun
- On-Field Raiden Shogun can charge Xiangling's Energy to full.- One of Xiangling's best On-Field DPS for National team.
Use Elemental Skill for Pyro Application
Xiangling's Elemental Skill summons Guoba who can apply Pyro Off-Field. When the summon duration ends, Guoba drops a Chili Pepper that buffs 10% Attack when it's picked up by a character.

How To Use Xiangling?
How To Use Xiangling?
▼Elemental Burst is a really powerful off-field attack.
▼Elemental Burst works well with buffs.
▼Needs plenty of Energy Recharge to be stable.
Elemental Burst Is A Really Powerful Off-Field Attack
Both the Elemental Skill and Burst of Xiangling are off-field attacks that makes it easier for Pyro reactions like Vaporize and Burgeon to happen. The Elemental Burst of Xiangling is specially powerful with infliction of Pyro and also damage. Buffing and making the Elemental Burst of Xiangling stable is the key use of Xiangling.
Elemental Burst Works Well With Buffs
The Elemental Burst of Xiangling retains the status / buffs that it has during activation (also called Snapshotting) making it work amazing with Buffs. While in battle, make sure to activate buffs first then using Elemental Burst.
Sample Characters That Gives Buff
Bennett
Kazuha
Needs Plenty Of Energy Recharge To Be Stable
Xiangling has a very high Elemental Burst cost of 80 Energy and is often off-field. Because of this, she does not obtain energy orbs. Players commonly use Bennett's Elemental Skill to funnel energy to Xiangling for faster charge of Elemental Burst.
Should You Pull for Xiangling's Constellation Or Best Weapon?
Aim For C4 if You're Able To
Constellation Priority
C4 > C3 > C6
C4 Is Ideal for Longer Burst Duration
Xiangling has gone largely uncontested in her niche as an off-field Pyro sub-dps with sustained Pyro application, and even if she were to be bested in future content, she will still perform very well regardless due to how her kit was designed.
Her constellations serve to greatly increase her effectiveness in her ideal role, with C4 being her strongest since it increases her Burst's duration by nearly half it's base time span, which overall increases her personal damage output and subsequently even her team's total DPS with or without triggering reactions. Her C3 increases her Burst by a few more levels, which, when combined with her C4, make for a very strong pairing. With this in mind, aiming for C4 is highly recommended.
Her C6 is a nice boost to have for her and other Pyro characters due to the Pyro DMG bonus, but isn't as impactful as her C4, so it's less of a goal and more of a bonus to an already good kit.

Who Is Xiangling?
A Renowned Chef From Liyue
Xiangling is a young girl from Liyue whose reputation as an amazing cook goes beyond the nation. She's an adventurous cook who experiments with different ingredients and techniques to create delicious food!
The Owner Of Wanmin Restaurant's Daughter
Xiangling practically grew up in the kitchen. Her father, Chef Mao, is the owner of Wanmin Restaurant in Liyue. Xiangling would often help her father out in the restaurant.
Guoba's Companion & Madame Ping's Student
Unknowingly, Xiangling is close to several high beings. She's the student of Madame Ping, an adeptus that used to be close with the gods, and the companion of Guoba, the god of Stove and Soil.
