Nov 11, 2015 65 0 4,640 Hi, I'm currently building a new gaming pc and I was wondering on which one of these cards I should get. Thanks Solution Well, the performance should be quite similar (although not exactly sure), but the 1050Ti uses maximum about 75 Watts of power while the 7970 (especially the GHz edition) I believe can use 200+ Watts under full load. That's the main difference I guess, it's pretty much new vs. old technology. Also it's 4GB memory vs. 3GB on the 7970, so the 1050Ti is a bit more futureproof there. Sort by date Sort by votes C

Mar 24, 2017 159 1 680 as far as performance i can only imagine the 1050ti would run better. yes the 7970 was more expensive than the 1050ti back in its day but these days, you CAN buy really good tech for quite good prices. i have owned both and can say that when idle the 7970 is nice and quiet but when gaming it really does get a lot louder than the 1050ti. it also heats up more. your better off with a 1050ti just because its more future proof and uses more modern tech. the 7970 will certainly not run any BETTER than the 1050ti.
