Jan 12, 2013 479 0 10,790 So I'm after a 770 4GB for B4 (think they recommend 3gb), narrowed it down to the EVGA 770 ACX 4GB Classifed. But I came across this thread (see below) which put the 590 above the 770 in performance. So is the 590 a good buy for modern games? It may well perform better but will it be supported in modern games? http://www.overclock.net/t/502403/graphics-card-ranking-5th-time-and-last-updated-daily Sort by date Sort by votes S

Feb 6, 2009 979 5 19,965 The 590 is basically two cards in SLI. It is always preferable to go with a single card especially when the dual card is 2 generations behind. The 590 no longer gets performance upgrades in drivers like the 770 would and the 770 uses much less power. Go for the 770 for sure it also has more RAM. gabor Upvote 0 Downvote R

No! the classified version is not worth the extra money.Superclocked version is good and very nicely clocked and with evga's cooler you can tweak a little more too Upvote 0 Downvote R

Jan 12, 2013 479 0 10,790 So no clocking In mind which should I go for? I do have an actual automatic oc button on my mobo (msi fxa990-gd80) and some pretty nifty overclocking software with it but I'm too scared to use it! Lol Upvote 0 Downvote gaborbarla

Feb 6, 2009 979 5 19,965 Superclocked will be sufficient, and you dont need to overclock anything. I wouldnt recommend it in any case unless you like noise. The superclocked version will be finetuned to be in the sweetspot of stability and performance for the cooling solution on that card. Go get that EVGA 770 Superclocked 😀. I have the EVGA 670 FTW and it turned out to be a good card that is basically as fast as a 680 due to its factory overclock and not noisy. Upvote 0 Downvote R

Cool thanks, so whats the point in the Classified version then? Upvote 0 Downvote R

Jan 12, 2013 479 0 10,790 Called the shop up and they've telling me the Classified is better? Obviously I'm not just going to take just their word, from what I can see the only difference is the classified has higher clock speeds and is sli compatible. Anything else?
