What is an H7 Stealth HID Kit?
An H7 HID kit is simply a kit that allows you to upgrade your existing H7 halogen bulbs to Xenon HID (High Intensity Discharge) technology seen on many newer cars. The benefit of upgrading to HID is the huge amount of extra light you get compared to the yellow candle like light that a standard H7 halogen bulb will emit.
Some H7 upgrades may require a specific bulb holder. Click here to find out more.
How much extra light do I get from a 55W HID Kit?
This will differ somewhat from car to car, however the 55W Stealth HID Kits will give approximately 400% more light on the road. This is a massive improvement which will transform your night time driving experience. Not only are these brighter than halogen bulbs, you are getting more light than you would get from an OEM factory fit system! Hazards, road markings, corners, signs and anything else you need to see will be far more visible, increasing road safety significantly.
What's so good about the H7 Stealth HID Kit?
This is a fair question as there are a large number of HID kits available on the market, especially on the "cheap and cheerful" marketplaces that we all know and love! However, despite first appearances, all HID kits are not built the same!
Here at HIDS4U, we are not just a reseller. We do extensive testing and product development on our HID conversion kits. We ensure only the best quality components are used to give you the performance you are expecting.
With our products you can expect the following:
- Correct beam pattern due to perfectly aligned light source in our bulbs.
- Consistent bright light due to the quality of the bulbs and ballasts in perfect combination.
- No error messages on 99% of vehicles due to the advanced CANBus compatibility systems developed for our ballasts.
- No radio interference due to the EMF suppression technology.
- No damage to other vehicle components (like the wiper motor) due to surge protection technology.
- Slim and stylish ballast to fit in even the tightest of spaces and to look good while it's there!
- 2 year warranty on all parts as we stand behind our product quality.
What colour H7 HID bulbs can I have?
We offer 3 different colour temperatures depending on your preference. The choice is largely between maximum light output and colour. Let's run through the options:
- 5000K - The most popular due to them being the brightest of the three. You get a much whiter light than a halogen bulb, but without the blue tint you see with higher K rated bulbs.
- 6000K - A close second in popularity, only slightly less bright than the 5000K bulbs, but these also come with the added blue tint for that stylish Xenon look.
Do I need Anti-Glare bulbs?
Firstly, this question only applies on your dipped (low) beam. It does not apply to the main (high) beam as you will not have those on when there are oncoming vehicles. However for your dipped beam, you need to identify whether you have projector or reflector headlights. This is easy to do. If you click the "What's this?" link next to the headlight unit type options above, you will get a handy guide to illustrate the difference. However a quick overview is as follows:
- Projector - If you look into the front of your headlights and see what looks like a dome lens, and you cannot see the bulb at all, you will have projector headlights. Projector lenses produce a much more focused beam pattern and effectively have built in anti-glare properties. Therefore you can opt for the normal Projector H7 bulbs in the options above.
- Reflector - If you look into the front of your headlight and you can see the bulb (it might be behind a small cap for aesthetic purposes), and you can see the reflectors behind it, you will have a reflector headlight. In this case, a standard HID bulb can produce excess glare that can be irritating for oncoming drivers. We have uniquely developed anti-glare bulbs for this very purpose that will maintain maximum light output for you as the driver, without producing glare for oncoming vehicles.
Do I need a mechanic to fit an HID Kit?
In a word, no! These kits are provided on a DIY plug and play basis. The H7 HID bulbs are a direct replacement for your existing H7 halogens and you then simply connect the bulb cables to the ballast using the plug and play connectors. Often our Stealth ballasts will fit inside the headlight unit, but in the case where you have little room within the unit, you can mount the ballasts in the engine bay. This will require you to drill a small hole in your dust cover to allow the bulb and ballast cables to connect.
Our instructions are written by ourselves in an easy to follow, step by step process and is in proper English. We are also on hand to assist with any queries or issues you have to ensure you are up and running with these as soon as possible.
Is a 55W HID Kit my only option?
The HIDS4U Stealth kits come in two different power ratings, these 55W kits and also a 35W version. The difference is simply the brightness. The H7 35W Stealth HID kits will give up to 300% more light compared to a halogen, whereas these 55W kits are rated at 400% brighter. Most vehicles will be fine with either so it's entirely up to you which one you go for. However some modern vehicles do not like the startup current required to power these 55W kits up. In these cases we recommend using a relay harness to bypass the core vehicle systems, or simply use a 35W kit instead.
Crystal Vision with Twenty20 Crystalite
You can have the best bulbs in the World in your headlights, but if your lenses are yellow and hazy with sun oxidisation your vision is going to be seriously affected. Luckily there's a very quick, simple and cheap solution with the Twenty20 Crystalite headlight restoration kit.
It's a simple 2 stage wipe system that will clean and remove the yellow haze in minutes. No drill pads, tapes, polishes or complicated processes. Your headlights will be returned to crystal clarity and protected with a new UV protection layer to ensure it lasts.
