About the HNHB LHIN

What does HHNB mean?

HNHB stands for the Hamilton, Niagara, Haldimand and Brant region. It also includes Burlington and most of Norfolk County.

What is a LHIN?

LHIN stands for Local Health Integration Network. LHINs are not for profit corporations that are funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

LHIN's work with local health providers to decide which health services are important to our community. The LHIN's duties are to plan, fund and coordinate health care services, working together with:

  • Hospitals
  • Long-Term Care Homes
  • Community Care Access Centres
  • Community Support Service Agencies
  • Mental Health and Addiction Agencies
  • Community Health Centres (CHCs)

Do I have to have my assessment in the city that I live?

You may go to any Assessment centre location and do not have to have your assessment in the city that you live.

Patients who live in Ontario can go anywhere in Ontario for their care.
