Honda CB150X Vs CB200X: Photo Comparison - BikeDekho
A closer look at how the Indonesian bike stacks up against the Indian ‘urban explorer’ through detailed images
Astra Honda, the Indonesian wing of the Japanese brand, has introduced the new CB150X, its smallest model in the ‘X’ lineup of adventure tourers. Not so long ago, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India launched the CB200X here, and that bike turned out to simply be a naked with some ADV-styled touches thrown in. The CB200X’s Indonesian sibling, however, seems to stand true to its ‘X’ genes. Here’s why we think so:
The Honda CB150X and CB200X draw inspiration from the bigger Honda CB500X. So, both these bikes have a tall stance, a muscular tank with long shrouds and a few bits and bobs to show their touring cred. While the CB150X flaunts a chunky, rugged bash plate, the CB200X uses a smaller unit which may not be apt for the rough terrain.

The fascia of both the bikes is similar, with an LED headlight and a tall-ish windscreen. Just like the Honda CB500X, both the CB150X and the CB200X feature a stubby beak. However, the knuckle guard-integrated indicators are unique to the CB200X.
The Honda CB150X and the CB200X feature LCD instrument consoles. While the CB150X follows a traditional white backlit layout, Honda has equipped the CB200X with a negative backlit console. Both the bikes do not get bluetooth connectivity even as an option, and pack only basic information.
The Honda CB150X is based on the CB150R Streetfire and uses the same 149cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with a six-speed gearbox. Though the official performance numbers for the CB150X aren’t out yet, it shouldn’t be different from its naked sibling’s output of 16.9PS and 13.8Nm.The Honda CB200X is based on the Hornet 2.0, and uses the 184.4cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 17.2PS and 16.1Nm. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The Honda CB150X uses a 37mm Showa USD fork with 150mm travel, and a linked monoshock. This is a proper long-travel suspension setup. On the other hand, the CB200X uses the same USD fork and monoshock setup from the Honda Hornet 2.0.
The braking and wheel setup on both these adventure tourers is similar, with petal discs at both ends paired with axial calipers. These bikes run on 17-inch wheels, but the Honda CB150X receives a 100/80 front tyre and a 130/70 rear, while the CB200X comes with a fatter 110/70 unit at the front and a 140/70 section rubber at the rear.
The Honda CB150X has a respectable ground clearance of 181mm, but the 817mm seat height may not be best suited for shorter riders. On the other hand, the CB200X’s measly 167mm ground clearance may not be apt for all terrains, though the 810mm seat height makes the bike a tad more accessible for shorter riders. The Honda CB150X has been priced at IDR 32 million, which is equivalent to approximately Rs 1.67 lakh, while the Honda CB200X is significantly more affordable at Rs 1,44,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
