Join Date Apr 2016 Posts218 Original Post Deleted I can access my HSBC Hong Kong business account using Touch ID on my phone but if this doesn't work I still need my mobile security key fob. Also, if I want to access My HSBC HK business account from my PC or Mac, it asks me to use (and shows me pictures of how to use) my mobile security key fob. I just hunted all around my HSBC HK 'Biz Express' app and there's no obvious link to an account code-generator; I'm curious to know if you have one?

shri likes this. When there was one app for all countries you could also install the app on two phones at it worked. Now with an app for each country it is linked only to one phone. Which is annoying when traveling and using mostly my work phone.

According to their FAQ you can have only on one device. Can I have Mobile Security Key on more than one device? For security reasons, your Mobile Security Key can only be registered to one device at a time. If you'd like to change the mobile device which your Mobile Security Key is linked to, simply log on to the HSBC HK Mobile Banking App with your new mobile device and select "Mobile Security Key" from the "Settings" menu. Then select "Activate on another device" and follow the on-screen instructions. https://retailbank.hsbc.com.hk/mobile-faq/en/home/

So you could have many branches on one phone, but not many phones for one branch. - 29-02-2020, 05:28 PM #16 Sith

So not sure how jrkob manage to have it working on 2 devices unless an iPad doesn’t count somehow... - 29-02-2020, 05:30 PM #17 DimSumBond

I know their staff struggle to resolve customer service issues all the time - I always have issues with HSBC - and it is only because of Hong Kong that the bank is still making money today. I guess all global banks are like this as they stack layer upon layer of fragmented systems onto each other each time they acquire a new business in a new market. - 29-02-2020, 05:34 PM #18 Sith

rainylin likes this.physical tokens are more secure than phone based authentication. (even if they are a pain to carry around!) It's a pity banks are phrasing them out to save costs. At least give customers the option.
