Dr. Huy Trinh is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. (Go Hokies!) Always wanting to live in New York City, he pursued his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at New York University. After graduation, he completed a general practice residency at Saint Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in New York City. He then returned to Washington, DC and completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the Washington Hospital Center. His residency program included training at Children’s National Medical Center, Johns Hopkins Medical Center, and the Veterans Affairs Hospital. There, he gained extensive training on dental implant surgery, facial trauma, as well as reconstructive and corrective jaw surgery. In his final year, he served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Trinh’s clinical interests include 3D surgical planning, dental implants, facial trauma, and orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery. He has been the principal and co-investigator of research projects related to these topics and presented his research at national conferences.

Dr. Trinh has traveled to underserved areas of South East Asia and South America for dental and surgical missions. He also participates in the Mission of Mercy Projects in both Maryland and Virginia. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has hospital privileges at The Washington Hospital Center and INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital.

In his leisure time, he enjoys staying physically active and playing competitive softball. Dr. Trinh and his wife have a daughter and son who are quite active. They also have two loving dogs, a Boxer and a Yorkshire terrier, who they refer to as Pinky and the Brain.
