Traditional groundwater models insufficiently reflect structural uncertainty and its potential impact on transport models. The Hydro-Structural Modelling (HSM) module uses resistivity models from geophysical inversion and lithology logs from boreholes as groundwater model inputs.
This data-driven approach reduces uncertainty without manual interpretation of resistivity models to lithologies.
Leverage all your survey data
Relying on borehole data as the primary source of lithological information results in poor spatial coverage but good vertical resolution. Geophysics will give you good spatial coverage but with indirect geological information.
Leveraging geophysical and geological data with this unique inversion approach results in more accurate groundwater predictions.

Semi-automated workflow
By combining resistivity information from geophysical data and borehole lithologies, the HSM module creates hydrostratigraphic models with a 2-step, semi-automated workflow.
The first step uses accumulated clay thickness (ACT) modelling to create a data-driven clay fraction model, then used inr the second step to create a cluster model.
Sharing and interoperability
Take your workflow one step further by exporting the cluster model and importing it into a groundwater model or multiple-point statistics (MPS) program.
Bridge the gap
The certainty of groundwater predictions based on hydrogeological models is highly dependent on the available input information, which is often limited.
Hydrogeological structure uncertainty can be more accurately estimated through this data-driven workflow, and groundwater prediction uncertainty can be minimised, bridging the gap between geophysics and hydrogeological modelling.
