Kentucky Safe Driver

Motor vehicle collisions kill more than 25,000 people and injure millions more every year.

Collisions are the leading cause of unintentional injury-related death for most age groups and the #1 cause of death for teens. Unsafe driving also costs communities more than $250 billion dollars a year.

About Our Programs

Kentucky Safe Driver programs utilize material developed by the National Safety Council that has been created specifically for Kentucky Safe Driver. All courses are approved and certified by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Classes are led by certified instructors who are committed professionals dedicated to saving lives of all drivers through education. Our courses are designed to help influence all drivers to make positive choices to improve their driving behaviors and attitudes.

Graduated Licensing Program

FOR TEENS: Kentucky’s Graduated Driver Licensing Program

This four-hour defensive driver course is designed for drivers aged 16-20 to fulfill the Graduated Driver Licensing requirement. This course is FREE to all students who need to meet their Graduated Driver Licensing requirement.

Mature Defensive Driving Course
FOR ADULTS: Mature Defensive Driving Program (55+) The Kentucky Approved and Certified Mature Defensive Driver Program is a four-hour course for drivers, particularly those 55 and older. It aims to enhance driving skills by improving hazard recognition, reducing collision risks, and understanding vehicle safety features. The program also offers a multi-year auto insurance discount and addresses age-related declines in reaction time, awareness, and motor control. Click here to enroll. State Traffic School/Court Order Program

State Traffic School/Court Diversion Program

These courses are four-hour defensive driver programs designed for all drivers of all ages who have been mandated by courts and/or notified by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. For all enrollments you MUST contact Kentucky Safe Driver.
