It's only $30 less and no wireless earbuds. I dont know if bestbuy will price match amazon.

For $30 I'd prefer from Best Buy 1- for the earbuds promo, 2- Amazon shipping / delivery service is not always top notch +1

john_geush Member Nov 8, 2010 209 posts 131 upvotes Alright after some twiking im sastified with the brightness In the evening the image is sharp and beautiful Morning and afternoon I do get some glare if there is a dark scene but this is to be expected I just get some indirect sunlight And since I mostly watch and play in the evening it’s minor I still prefer to force my Chromecast to output hdr content all the time even if it’s sdr And tested with hdr content (Chromecast as hdr always and webos as depending on the file) Hdr file get rendered exactly the same on both the Chromecast and webos while an sdr file, i prefer on the Chromecast because It seems to do some post processing to past it as hdr and I prefer it that way I have 90 day to choose, it seems I will keep it we will see I’m intrigued by qled tv having hdmi 2.1 but as I see it the Samsung has only 1 input….

Simagu2 Member May 13, 2013 210 posts 274 upvotes Montréal Strange, have not heard any reports about these tvs dying quickly before. Yes, you can return them directly to any Costco for an immediate refund. And from my experience I recieved an evo panel from a delivery, but would have been happy regardless, this TV is amazing!
blyndfyre wrote: ↑ I’ve had two from online and both are not Evo. First one panel completely died in 40 days. Second one has pretty bad banding on some white screens. Considering another exchange. Do you know if you can just go to store to exchange instead of doing it online? May end up with an Evo that way.

john_geush Member Nov 8, 2010 209 posts 131 upvotes I also got an evo panel What difference does it make in the end as I understand it without the heat sink of the g1 the c1 cannot safety use the higher brightness +2

Simagu2 Member May 13, 2013 210 posts 274 upvotes Montréal Arguably the evo panels are more advanced and may be more durable, which would be nice but it's a lot of speculation. No other real benefits unless you hack it so it thinks it's a G1, but it's too risky to get 10% brightness imo.

The EVO panel itself uses Deuterium in its blue light which is apparently longer lasting and overall reduces the "Burn-in" (which is just wearing out of the organic compounds). Im not a science guy so i dont know if its more marketing than science, but im happy to at least have it opposed to not. +1

Were you able to cherry pick the unit? Also are the free ear buds available in store?

rowong Sr. Member Nov 29, 2007 652 posts 19 upvotes Ear buds are not available in store as I have asked before in this thread, only from online order. I guess its a hit or miss for Evo panel? I did receive an Evo panel as per the model number method. +1

What are you trying to watch? It's probably a problem with the content itself. Some movies and tv shows are just dim in general. A lot of the marvel movies are like that. Ozark is also a TV show that is just dim all around because that's how the show was produced. teksavvy sucks

gamblinman Newbie Dec 20, 2016 50 posts 16 upvotes I purchased the C1 online back in late Feb. I just called and told them my "friend" told me about the $100 price reduction and the free earbuds (given it's within 90 days) and he was able to place a separate order for the earbuds, and once shipped he was credited back the cost on his credit card, and I would like the same. He put me on hold, got the approval and did it. So saved $113 (with tax) due to price match and free earbuds. Love this forum.

For SDR shadow detail, it might be the black level set to limited and not full, and also a combination of energy savings mode. For black level: Go to General --> Devices --> HDMI Settings --> HDMI Deep Color and make sure it's not off Then go to Picture --> Advanced Settings --> Brightness --> Black Level --> Set to Full You can also change the gamma profile to something like 2.2 versus the default BT profile. For Energy Savings Mode: Support --> OLED Care --> Device Self Care --> Energy Saving --> Energy Saving Step --> Off +2

One of the better panels I have seen. Definitely a keeper.

$99 is cheap. But we have the legal warranty... Up to you, $99 buys the peace of mind for the next 5 years and prevent you to sue the merchant and/or the manufacturer at the small claim court . You may also have something included with your credit card. Take into consideration that you have 90 days to think about it and jump on the extended warranty.
