Hi guys, my car is giving me notifications saying service and inspection due , overdue 40 days (I know I should of done this sooner), my problem is I’m getting it booked in to VW for a service but have no idea if I should book a minor or a major, I’ve checked my service book and can’t see that’s its been in for a major in its lifetime. The car is a 2015 Mk 7.

any help is appreciated 👀

VW should be able to advise on this for you, but Haldex Oil should be done at 30k so that's overdue if it's not been done before, ask them about cleaning the haldex pump filter at same time, not a service item but should be. 

DSG oil is due at 40k so you should be looking at that also ideally in this service if it's not been done as well, especially as the car is 5 years old.

 

Brake Fluid should have been done at 3 years and then 5 years so would assume that's due also

How long have you had the car, is this your first service? If it is and you have no receipts etc from previous I would be getting all the above done, not cheap but all needs doingSent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk

Have you got the service book, which on a car that age is a physical book and not electronic as they are on later cars?  If so, you should be able to tell which services have been done and if they were Minor or Major.  Additionally VW should be able to tell you.    

Your car sounds around same age and rough mileage as mine - 65 plate on 34k miles.  Mine’s been serviced annually and is going in for a Major Service (plus Brake Fluid) and MOT end Aug.  DSG service was just done albeit a little early.   

As stated above Brake Fluid is at year 3 then every 2 years after so that sounds due.  If it’s a DSG then the DSG service is due at 40k miles, but as you’re not far off that and if it’s going in anyway probably good idea to add that in now.   Haldex is due at 3 years so you need to have that done too if it’s not already been done (try to get them to clean the filter).   If I were you I’d be booking it in for a Major Service this time alongside the Brake Fluid, Haldex service, DSG service as soon as possible either with a good reliable main dealer or good Indy place.
