#1 · Oct 2, 2006 Z-1 Performance Automotive Services Inc. - NISMO Competition Heads NISMO Competition heads are offered in 2 configurations for the VQ35 engine, the difference being the inner diameter of the valve seat. The Stage 1 heads use a 31mm valveseat, where the Stage 2 uses a 32mm valve seat. These heads differ from the factory heads in that they have a ported combustion chamber. The stock VQ35 combustion chamber flows 56cc, and these NISMO versions flow 46cc's. This allows for a rise in compresion from 10.3:1 to 12.0:1 with stock pistons. These parts are on a build to order basis from NISMO Japan, please allow up to 90 days for delivery. Requires purchase of NISMO Titanium Competition Valve set. I think its mmmmmmmmmmzing. Its a bolt on to them but for us you are gonna have to have some $cheese$ to make it work. Why not look around for an entire 350z cylinder heads which i have seen in junkyards for $150ea. Then you can use the camshafts. Lower the mileage the better. #3 · Oct 2, 2006 That has to be a crappy translation or something.. "Ported combustion chamber" what is that!? You can polish chamber, but porting it will reduce your compression ratio. Maybe they meant ported intake/exhaust ports OR milled head. As for the statement below it looks like they milled the surface of the head and reduced the volume of the combustion chamber. Notice I said volume, not 'flow'. Reducing volume within the chamber (56cc-46cc) will increase compression ratio which they said would happen. Someone used the wrong set of terminology here.. uggh. Was there port work done, cnc or hand? What type of valve job (3,5, or full radius)? #4 · Oct 3, 2006 if you care to search, you will find all the specs.
