NISSAN “HYPERTRONIC CVT-M6” TRANSMISSION

 

In a response to increasing customer demand, Nissan has extended the application of its “Hypertronic CVT-M6” transmission on the new Primera to include the 2.0-litre SE and Sport grades.  Since its launch in September 1999, over 60 per cent of CVT Primera sales have been with the Hypertronic CVT-M6 option.

 

This technologically advanced “stepless” automatic transmission provides enhanced efficiency and smoothness compared with conventional automatic transmissions.  “Hypertronic CVT-M6” with a refined six-speed manual-shift mode and sequential operation offers a more involving and rewarding driving experience.

 

The Hypertronic CVT-M6 transmission offers a second selector position to the left of the traditional CVT gate, marked with a simple plus and minus.  With the gear lever in this left-hand quadrant of the gate, the driver can manually select the six predetermined gear ratios by simply moving the lever backwards or forwards.

 

Standard features on the generously-equipped SE and Sport models include speed proportional power assisted steering, new personalised audio system with speed dependent volume control, remote central door locking with superlocking and anti-hijack function, ABS with Nissan Brake Assist and electronic brake force distribution, driver’s, passenger and side airbags and 3-point rear centre A/ELR seatbelts.

Front fog lamps, leather-trimmed steering wheel, body coloured bumpers and side sill spoilers feature on both models.  The Sport models have 16-inch alloy wheels, sport seats and white instrument dials to add to the sporty appeal, while the more comfort orientated SE has 15-inch alloy wheels, chrome door handles and rear electric windows.
