Noctua NH-U9S CPU Cooler Review

Smaller form factor systems keep on becoming more popular. With more and more full-featured smaller motherboards coming out many people are ditching their larger towers for these smaller form factor systems. With a small form factor system you only have a certain amount of space though. This is where the new Noctua NH-U9S comes in. Compared to other larger Noctua coolers that we have tested the NH-U9S has a smaller 95×95 mm footprint so it clears RAM and PCI-Express slots on most Intel and AMD motherboards, including mini-ITX motherboards. The cooler has a height of only 125 mm as well so it makes it very versatile in fitting inside smaller cases. We know Noctua for great performing CPU cooler, will this smaller cooler fit in the same category? Read on as we find out!

Specifications

Packaging The NH-U9S comes in Noctua’s typical packaging that they have been using for a few years now. On the front of the package there is a listing of some of the main features.

On one side of the package all of the main features are listed and explained so if you really want to know a lot about the cooler you have it right there on the box.

On the opposite side there is a list of specifications for both the heatsink and the included fan. There is also a listing of everything that comes inside of the package itself.

Opening the box up and getting inside we have the NH-U9S CPU cooler and a box of accessories. These accessories include all of your mounting hardware for both Intel and AMD systems, thermal paste, screwdriver, a set of extra fan clips, and a low-noise adapter.
