Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs. In this section, we are going to illustrate the Panasonic GX9 and Panasonic G9 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Panasonic GX9 has external dimensions of 124 x 72 x 47 mm (4.88 x 2.83 x 1.85″) and weighs 450 g (0.99 lb / 14.36 oz) (including batteries). Panasonic G9 has external dimensions of 137 x 97 x 92 mm (5.39 x 3.82 x 3.62″) and weighs 658 g (1.45 lb / 23.21 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Panasonic GX9 and the Panasonic G9. Panasonic GX9 is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 13mm narrower, 25mm shorter and 45mm thinner than Panasonic G9.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Panasonic GX9 and Panasonic G9.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day. Panasonic GX9 is significantly lighter (208g ) than the Panasonic G9 which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since both Panasonic GX9 and Panasonic G9 have the same Micro Four Thirds lens mount and Four Thirds sized sensors, lenses will not be a differentiator on total size of the system.

GX9 G9 Min Average Max Thickness ComparisonMirrorless Cameras
GX9 G9 Min Average Max Weather SealingThanks to the weather-sealed body of the G9, you can use this camera with more confidence under conditions where there is risk of exposure to water and dust compared to the GX9.
LCD Screen Size and FeaturesPanasonic GX9 and Panasonic G9's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.
Panasonic GX9 features a Tilting-only screen which is mostly only good for shooting from waist or over-the-head levels. On the other hand, Panasonic G9 sports a Fully Articulated screen which is more flexible and useful, especially for taking selfies and video. Both Panasonic GX9 and Panasonic G9 have Four Thirds sized 20.0 MP resolution sensors so sensor size and resolution is not a differentiator between these two cameras.
Another similarity between these two cameras is that both Panasonic G9 and Panasonic GX9 sensors lack anti-alias (Low-Pass) filters. Removing anti-alias filter increases the sharpness and level of detail but at the same time, it increases the chance of moiré occurring in certain scenes.
Below you can see the GX9 and G9 sensor size comparison.
Panasonic GX9 and Panasonic G9 have the same sensor sizes so they will provide same level of control over the depth of field when used with same focal length and aperture.
The number of available lenses is a big deciding factor when choosing your interchangeable lens camera. Panasonic GX9 and Panasonic G9 have the same Micro Four Thirds lens mount and currently there are 131 native lenses available for these cameras.
Another important factor is the availability of image stabilization. Both Panasonic GX9 and Panasonic G9 have Sensor-based Image stabilization which means that all the lenses will be stabilized in these bodies. G9's built-in Image stabilization system is effective for compensating vibration up to 6.5-stops according to CIPA standards.
