zniter81 Z Hi guy, I planning of getting a tissot. Which movement should I get? I read that 7750 is reliable. But more expensive. Also read that c01.211 has alot of issue. #1 · Oct 19, 2014 (Edited) Hi guy, I planning of getting a tissot. Which movement should I get? I read that 7750 is reliable. But more expensive. The other two movements are chronograph movements - is that what you want? #3 · Oct 19, 2014 Hi, I OK with non Chronograph movement. #4 · Oct 19, 2014 Which Tissots are you specifically looking at? At least to me, movement is only one piece (sometimes just a small one at that) of the watch purchase decision. #5 · Oct 19, 2014 There is a reason the 7750 being more expensive. The C01.211 is a typical Swatch product following the philosophy of cost minimizing. It does fuction though but for me the 7750 is the better movement. #6 · Oct 19, 2014 (Edited) What functions do you want your watch to have? Are you willing to pay $600 or more every 5 years to service a mechanical chronograph? What do you want your watch to look like? If reliability is the primary concern why don't you look at quartz chronographs? #7 · Oct 19, 2014 The P80 only comes in a 3 hander version and if you are happy to have a none chrono is the one I would go for. The C01.211 has had some bad press because of its minimalist approach and its use of some plastic parts. That said though the 7750 is the better movement. #8 · Oct 19, 2014 Watches with 7750 kind of bored of. Child Baby Yawn Facial expression Nose #9 · Oct 19, 2014 Powermatic 80 because it's not a chronograph and, I think, made exclusively by Swatch for Tissot. #10 · Oct 19, 2014 Not exclusive for Tissot but was made by ETA for exclusive use of some Swatch Group brands, Certina is also using the Powermatic 80. Besides the longer power reserve the accuracy it's really nice, the word on the street is that all of the Powermatic's are within cosc specs. Maybe based on the ETA 2824 but can't see where is the downgrade, it has more power reserve, it's more accurate (vs non cosc 2824's), it has a hi-tech low friction escapement material, no need for manual rate adjustment (it's done by laser), "optimized" barrel and main spring...the only "downgrade" if I can call that a downgrade is the lower beat rate. Quite frankly there's a bit o R&D involved to "downgrade" something even more from a company(ies) that can have every standard ETA 2824 they want. Show more replies 0 Reply Insert Quotes Post Reply
