It will hold speed well and can be surprisingly agile in the right conditions.Bonus: Link to the current changelog] for anyone interested![forum.warthunder.com] < > Showing 1-14 of 14 comments ErickaUnlimited View Profile View Posts 22 Aug, 2020 @ 10:08pm Long as they don't remove my tanks. No it won't. Anyone who has the XP-38G gets to keep it but it won't be purchasable anymore and likely will never return (as it didn't exist). #4 Jaes View Profile View Posts 23 Aug, 2020 @ 8:46am

That's not correct. You get to keep the XP-38 and you have to purchase the YP-38 separately. https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/496097-dev-major-update-raining-fire-changelog-discussion/&ct=1598152879Check Smin's post on the question, he goofed up the initial response on whether you get to keep the XP-38 or not, but clarified. #5 Moglox View Profile View Posts 23 Aug, 2020 @ 8:47am ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they should have gave the few who have it a coupon #6 AttackerCat View Profile View Posts 23 Aug, 2020 @ 10:12am

You keep the premium aircraft you already bought, seems fair to me. #7 The King of Spades View Profile View Posts 24 Aug, 2020 @ 3:10am Looking forward to this. Is it the same 37 mm as on the P39? #8 The Wiggly Armed Man View Profile View Posts 24 Aug, 2020 @ 6:47am

Yes, it shares the M4 with the P-39. #9 Illusionyary View Profile View Posts 24 Aug, 2020 @ 9:12am

Yep but only 15 rounds for it. #10 Lafettie View Profile View Posts 24 Aug, 2020 @ 9:19am Thanks for that Info ! :D Glad i bought it when i started with WarThunder years ago. #11 Danny in Space View Profile View Posts 24 Aug, 2020 @ 9:22am XP-38 is literally just a camo for the P-38G-1 I think I will pass lol. I usually would be interested but those camo premium planes are lame. Though the new one actually sounds interesting. Im sure we will see it lots in ground RB lol Last edited by Danny in Space; 24 Aug, 2020 @ 9:25am #12 Blitzkrieg Wulf View Profile View Posts [developer] 24 Aug, 2020 @ 11:03am

If memory serves, the M4 cannon was primarily anti-aircraft in design. While it may have AP shells, the nature of a low-velocity gun inherently will not have good penetration... Not to mention- if it only has 15 shots, having good trigger discipline will be its own issue. At this point, nobody would buy the XP-38G because of its performance, especially if the same thing can be had free of charge... People would buy the XP-38G because of the skin, the soon-to-be rarity/obscurity, or because they were interested in some other aspect of the pack, that just happened to contain this plane. #13 The Wiggly Armed Man View Profile View Posts 24 Aug, 2020 @ 12:48pm

"Designed primarily as an anti-aircraft weapon, the gun had a muzzle velocity of 2,000 ft/s (610 m/s) and a cyclic rate of 150 rounds per minute. It was normally loaded with high-explosive shells, but could also be loaded with the M80 armor-piercing shell, which could penetrate 1 inch (25 mm) of armor plate at 500 yd (460 m)." - M4 autocannon, Wikipedia[en.wikipedia.org]Your memory does serve. #14 < > Showing 1-14 of 14 comments Per page: 1530 50 War Thunder > General Discussions > Topic Details Date Posted: 22 Aug, 2020 @ 9:17pmPosts: 14 Discussions Rules and Guidelines Close
