This Genshin Impact guide contains information on how to defeat the boss, Pyro Regisvine located in Liyue. The Pyro Regisvine is the Pyro version of the regisvine species that exist throughout the overworld. In addition, this guide will also provide several tips and tricks that will help you take down the Pyro Regisvine, as well as the rewards on offer.

In a volcanic cavern deep in the mountains of Liyue dwells an overgrown Whopperflower brimming with heat. The dangerous growth serves as another of the game’s ever-respawning World Bosses, exchanging its life (and some Original Resin) for goods needed to see Pyro-attuned adventurers through the ranks. Here’s how to find the fiery foliage and how to beat it.

Pyro Regisvine Location

The Pyro Regisvine is found far into the mountains of Liyue, nestled right between Tainque Valley and Luhua Pool. It’s easy enough to happen upon (and fall into) its chamber by climbing the mountains but hit up the teleport just west of the pool and you should see the official way in - a cave entrance that gets notably darker the deeper you go.

How to Defeat Pyro Regisvine

Assuming you’ve taken on the deadly Cryo Regisvine before needing to fight its fiery friend over in Liyue, you should already have a decent understanding of how this fight is likely to go. Its moveset is radically different from its frosty familiar, but the fact that it can’t leave its center spot makes it somewhat less imposing, too.

Though it should be obvious, Pyro adventurers aren’t really going to cut it here - not with their Elemental Skills and Bursts, at least. If they happen to be your best Normal Attack damage dealers, bring them for sustained damage. Otherwise, you’ll want Cryo and Hydro characters like Barbara, Qiqi, Kaeya, and Xangqui. Geo and Electro work with the two aforementioned elements, so bring those along for added burst depending on your setup.

Phase One

Genshin Impact pyro regisvine guide 01.jpg

Rather than strict phases, Pyro Regisvine just goes on an all-out offensive until you knock it down - just like the Cryo Regisvine over in Mondstadt. The trick is to shatter the glowing bulb/crystal found first on its base, then its head, knocking the plant down in exhaustion and opening it up to proper damage-dealing attacks. Learning its attacks can help you avoid them and, more importantly, exploit the openings they create.

Missile barrage

Typically a starting attack, this move simply fires homing missiles your way. They’re pretty slow, just keep them trailing behind you and they’ll eventually hit something else, dissipating in the process. This is a good time to run ahead and attack the base.

Pyroblast

This is either a quick follow-up of the Missile Barrage or a move it’ll sneak in to deal with distant characters. It’s a fast-moving ball of fire straight at you, so dash to the side as soon as it’s let out. It will explode on contact. Again, circle around and attack the base.

Faceplant

Aptly named, this move is identical to Cryo Regisvine’s Shattering Slam in many ways. Avoid the impact zone of the plant’s massive head crashing down by stepping to either side and melee characters will have the perfect time to burst it down.

Tempest

When the Pyro Regisvine looks like it’s crying out to the heavens, it’s likely conjuring up this grueler of an attack. It’s not as tricky as it looks, though. Let it intimidate you, and you’ll have a bad time.

All it does is cause small eruptions at random spots within the area, knocking your character high into the sky for Pyro damage. They trigger fast, but by walking around in small circles, you should be able to outpace them without resorting to a sprint. Don’t attack at this point. Just focus on staying safe and the attack will end after a little while.

Whiplash

Soon after getting back up from a dead head, Pyro Regisvine may slam the ground again, quickly rotating to sweep in the inner circle. Step onto the outer circle when you see this coming to avoid it.

Triple Faceplant

Not exactly a move you want to be pulling on the ice rink, this is identical to Cryo Regisvine’s Shattering Slam. Three targetted Faceplants come your way. Get knocked up by one and chances are you’re eating every subsequent one, too. Get sprinting.

Phase Two

At 5% HP, Pyro Regisvine just becomes incredibly tanky, barely taking any notches on its health bar as you strike it. Keep at it, though. Unlike other bosses, it isn’t trying to regenerate its HP at this point. It’s just fighting for survival. Use everything you’ve learned already to dodge and attack and it’ll eventually go down.

Pyro Regisvine Rewards

For 40 Original Resin, Pyro Regisvine gives 200 Adventure XP, some Mora, unique Character Ascension Materials like the Everflame Seed, and Artifacts:

  • Everflame Seed
  • Agnidus Agate Ascension Crystals (depending on world level can range from fragments to gemstones)
  • Berserker Artifacts
  • Instructor Artifacts
  • Prayers for Illumination
  • Gladiator’s Finale Artifacts
  • Wanderer’s Troupe Artifacts
