BANNED Sep 7, 2017 133 2 10,595 I am planning to upgrade my Corsair VS 450W PSU to a CX 450. I want to ask if this (CX 450) PSU is any upgrade over the last one or same. Any better suggestions for 450-500W. I want to drive just a RX 460 and a Ryzen 3 with that. But is the quality good and should I call it an upgrade over VS 450? Sort by date Sort by votes

The CX 450 will be fine. As far as budget PSU's go it's one of the best available and will be plenty for the Ryzen 3 and RX 460.

The OP is not in the US BTW. In India(which is where I believe they are located) that 520w S12II costs ~50% more than the CX450. The Seasonic is ~6000inr and the CX 450 is ~4000inr. While the S12II is not a bad PSU it's only on par with the newer CX units. The S12II is a much older design(group regulated). The CX uses a much newer dc-dc platform.

If the CX450 is the black and grey model , go for it. Decent PSU. 👍
