Completely normal. Especially during the summer.
+1, your car is trying to cool itself down... #7 · Jul 16, 2008 not necessarily. open the hood, and with the engine off, check the two cooling fans. they should both turn very freely. my car is in the dealer right now. they're changing the whole unit since a bearing is beginning to seize up. #8 · Jul 30, 2008 Re: (dekoone505) i figured out the problem. popped the hood and noticed that one of the fans wasnt working. still warrantied and dealer replaced it. #9 · Jul 30, 2008 i wonder if i have the same problem with mine... havent really driven the car lately but next time i do, i'll check it. thanks for the info though http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif #10 · Jul 30, 2008 Re: (dekoone505) Had the same problem dealer replaced both fans #11 · Jul 31, 2008 Re: (dekoone505) yeah. no prob. dealer said that they've been replacing alot of them lately. i had the fans, interior headliner, and my radio changed. so...good luck. haha. #12 · Jul 31, 2008 Re: (miltogk) Sounds like a common problem...I had (1) of mine replaced when I first got the car back in 06...Now I have the same thing. Check engine light and scanned and have a Secondary fan failure code. Now I'm out of warranty though..oh well #13 · Jul 31, 2008 Re: Radiator fan noise (miltogk) They're probably about to quit the world: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3924962 Watch your temp gauge closely #14 · Aug 1, 2008 Re: Radiator fan noise (classicjetta) Thanks for the post Like I said this is #2 failure for me and it has me concerned..I am going to take out the assembly this weekend and ohm out the secondary fan... Somehow I think VW is going to have to be responsible for these defective fans... For now the temp gauge is holding steady. joe Insert Quotes Post Reply
