Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has maintained her lead in the latest vice presidential survey conducted by pollster Pulse Asia.

A week before Election Day, Pulse Asia released its vice presidential survey results, with Duterte leading with a 55% rate. She was followed by Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III with 18%.

Senator Francis Pangilinan was in third spot with 16%, followed by Dr. Willie Ong with 3% and Manny Lopez with 1%.

Duterte scored 51% in Metro Manila, 46% in Luzon, 50% in Visayas, and 80% in Mindanao, her bailiwick.

In the last vice presidential survey conducted by Pulse Asia, Duterte scored 56% as she was the favored vice-presidential candidate of big pluralities to overwhelming majorities across geographic areas and socio-economic classes (44% to 83% and 55% to 63%, respectively).

Sotto was also in the second spot in the previous Pulse Asia survey.

The latest Pulse Asia survey was conducted from April 16 to 21. It was based on a sample of 2,400 representative adults 18 years old and above, who are registered voters and likely to vote in the May 2022 elections.

Respondents answered to the question, "If the coming May 2022 elections were held today, whom would you vote for as vice president of the Philippines?"

According to Pulse Asia, the survey had a ± 2% error margin at the 95% confidence level.

In the presidential race, Duterte's runningmate, former Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. also maintained his lead with 56%.

Vice President Leni Robredo, on the other hand, remains at the second spot with 23%, down 1% from the previous survey.

Senator Manny Pacquiao, meanwhile, replaced Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on the third spot. From 6% in the March survey, Pacquiao’s rating increased to 7% while Moreno’s dropped from 8% to 4%.

Senator Panfilo Lacson’s rating was unchanged at 2%. Lacson was followed by presidential candidates Ernie Abella (1%), Faisal Mangondato (1%), Leody de Guzman, (0.3%), Norberto Gonzales (0.1%), and Jose Montemayor Jr. (0.1%).

Among the senatorial candidates, broadcast journalist Raffy Tulfo and Antique Representative Loren Legarda were the most preferred, according to the Pulse Asia survey. — RSJ/KBK, GMA News
