Check the belt for large cracks, look at the pulley when the cars running, look for wobble, you can also loosen the tension, check the pulley's spinning, then put the tension back. I think there's a DIY for the procedure in the FAQ section, I know how to do it for a 12v VR, but it's gunna be a bit different for you. #5 · Oct 30, 2009 Re: FV-QR (dremhmrk2) Ok. The belt seems perfectly fine. No cracks, no wear signs. There is no wobbling no movement. The tension is good (not slack) but the stupid sound is still there its like a click click click click click click sound. Help? Image #6 · Oct 30, 2009 Welcome to owning a vw... were the waterpump and t-belt done recently? #7 · Oct 30, 2009 Re: SERPENTINE Belt makes noise...normal?????? (TheRealist) Do you still have the protective shield under your engine bay to keep water from splashing in? If not, you'll probably just have to deal with a squeaky belt. #8 · Oct 30, 2009 Re: (dubbinjeastin) nope the car has 43000 miles on it. No water pump nor timing belt done, I think. at idle its just an annoying sound... #9 · Oct 30, 2009 Re: SERPENTINE Belt makes noise...normal?????? (smittyATL) Haven't check under the car but being a 2005 I would doubt that it would be gone ..maybe i'm wrong. But thx for the input guys. I called the dealer for a check up of the serpentine belt. I just hope they dont charge me for nothing. #10 · Oct 30, 2009 FV-QR its the serpentine belt tensioner i bet. i had the same noise at idle thought it was my waterpump/ timing belt but replaced them both along with the serpentine belt and still had the noise afterwards. i plan on replacing it soon though http://www.ecstuning.com/Volks...79616/ #11 · Oct 30, 2009 Re: FV-QR (CEAZE_ONE) the problem isn't with your belt, its with one of the accessories or tensioner that the belt rotates. there is no way to adjust tension or anything to lube. you need to take the belt off and check everything by hand to find out what is making the noise. #12 · Oct 30, 2009 Re: FV-QR (beaker420)

Take the belt off and spin each pulley by hand. you'll be able to tell which one is causing the noise. #13 · Oct 30, 2009 Re: FV-QR (dubbinjeastin) alright, i'll do that and let you guys know if I got it fixed. Insert Quotes Post Reply
