    Stanford placement

    1. Economist c736

^^^ You might be right, but this year Golub was placed at Harvard. Having said that, I don't believe as well in the long run potential of network researchers.

      So where is he going???

^ Well, it was't a particularly good thread about her corhort anyway.

Yeah, rest of the cohort didn't do so well in any case.

In the recent years, Jackson could place his students very well but this year he couldnt. This is one of the main reason why Stanford placement sucks this year. It seems to me that the crappy network researches will not be popular in the following years and Stanford placement will unlikely turn back to the previous two years.

Ironically, the networkers have a bad network. They should have seen it coming....

I said that I could understand he didn't want to advise. The decision not to enter the building remains unexplained.

Advisor told me I could vent to him when feeling unhappy about things. He said it in the past and I did it in the past. So in April sent to him a private email cursing some professor (the reason not important now). And then this happened. The advisor could of course say to me the email wasn't acceptable on him and even stop advising me, but not to let me enter the building, kick me out from my cubicle etc. was pure sadism and abuse. I still don't know why he made the email public also, when I trusted him that it was between us. Maybe because he no longer thinks you are a guy he can trust? Maybe because he thinks you're saying bad things about him too? I'm not defending his behavior, but when you show him that you are "cursing professors", he will start wonder if he is also in the list. And, by telling you to talk about things you're unhappy about, he didn't necessarily mean sending emails about his colleagues.

Came for Stanford placement, stayed for the drama. Bump
