Simor18 S I have been looking around at different tuning chips and came across this one called Chip Your Car, I put the link below. Was just curious if anyone else has used this chip? I asked if doing a stage 2 or 3 would require upgrading engine components like a downpipe and they said no. Also they say it is just a plug in tune, no extra software is needed and should only take about 60 seconds to do. Reviews seem okay, nothing really sketchy, but still hesitant about it. Any info would be great. Thanks www.chipyourcar.com #1 · Dec 29, 2020 I have been looking around at different tuning chips and came across this one called Chip Your Car, I put the link below. Do they promise bigger hp/torque gains at cheaper costs? Sounds like a case of the too-good-to-be-trues? By contrast, popular alternative vdash requires decoding pins and all kinds of stuff, takes more than 60 seconds, thus my skepticism. #3 · Dec 30, 2020 Agreed, getting a more expensive tune like Polestar or Hilton is a "buy once, cry once" kind of deal in my opinion. Getting a cheaper, unverified tune could do more bad than good and when it doesn't live up to expectations you'll want to get a different tune. 0 Reply #4 · Dec 30, 2020 Definitely avoid! Especially with our modern ECUs - tricking it into increasing boost or a/f can have long term consequences, especially since it's not tuned specifically for your car. What are your goals and budget? Id recommend the Do88 intercooler as the first engine upgrade (best bang for buck imo). Just installed it.... very satisfied. #6 · Dec 30, 2020

The one thing that got me on this chip was it says that once plugging the chip into your car it says you need to drive it for about 150 miles before the chip will really take affect. Not sure if during those 150 miles the chip is learning about your car or what, but either way I will not be getting it. I really can't do a whole lot since I kind of want to keep the warranty on the car, so I will most likely look into getting the Polestar tune just so I don't void my warranty. I know most chips you can reset back to factory if you needed to take your Volvo in, but knowing me I would mess something up. Would anyone have experience with the process and if it's worth the cost, as I'm also looking into tuning my car. #11 · Dec 30, 2020 I will try to get a video at some point. The sound is apparent under throttle and sounds like a "wooosh" intake noise, which is also accompanied by a light supercharge whine. When you release your foot from the gas at higher RPM, the supercharger whine is louder (but awesome) as it drops in revs. Cruising on the highway you barely notice it. Should be noted that i do have the torque mount installed, which also translates to more cabin noise in general. #12 · Dec 31, 2020 A question out of lack of knowledge, but how well do the VEAs fare if you throw a tune on them? The T6 is what, 320 hp from 2 cyl = 160 hp/liter? What would be a reasonable tune for both longevity and power? #13 · Jan 1, 2021 Not 100% but I think VEA transition to "Drive-E" for the newer 2.0L models. In terms of tuning, there isn't much out there for our 4 bangers. ViVA has the Heico Sport motion for I think about $1500? that can be tuned to the car, which states it adds 33+ HP. That plus supporting mods (IC/Intake etc) could probably get you near 375hp/380t which is close to the limits for this motor internals and the 8 spd tranny. Plus for street use, that will be...plenty, lol. I got a 17Kw (23hp) increase on my V70 T6 on the dyno (at the wheels) just with the TDI Box. #17 · Jan 6, 2021

Unfortunately they dont have the TDI box for the twin charged 2.0 :( 0 Reply #16 · Jan 6, 2021 I don't know why anyone would think chipyourcar.com is sketchy. This looks like a fantastic deal on a stage 3 chip for my 2002 V60 V8 and a stage 1 for my 2015 Suzuki Kizashi V10! It's definitely not just a plastic piece of junk that plugs into your obd2 port to make a light blink. 115639 #19 · Jan 6, 2021 lmao... ironically my previous car before the T6 was a Kizashi SLS.... slow as balls 0 Reply #20 · Jan 14, 2021

I personally wouldn't get anything from that website. Your best bet for tuning these cars are the following: TDI Tuning Box, Hilton Tuning, Polestar tune or look for euro performance shops in your area that use the tuning software MyGenius. Insert Quotes Post Reply
