thanks, but it doesn't tell you much. 0 Reply #4 · Sep 18, 2014 Which other brands offer that to customers? Name names. #5 · Sep 19, 2014 (Edited by Moderator) The VIN has minimal information in it: Country of manufacture, year, model number, sequential build number, etc. Wikipedia has the full descriptions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_identification_number#Vehicle_Descriptor_Section The actual options used to build a vehicle are usually listed in either the maintenance manual or a sticker in the storage area/trunk. It lists (usually) 3 letter/number codes for the build options. Here's a thread with links and lists of codes: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/533820-VW-Audi-Seat-Škoda-Option-Codes-Decoder #6 · Sep 19, 2014

Any dealer service department can use your VIN and see exactly what was installed on your car at manufacture. The parts dept can use it to determine which parts are for your particular vehicle. 0 Reply #7 · Sep 20, 2014 (Edited by Moderator) Hi all. Not sure if this is what you want, but I created a spreadsheet of the VAG Option Codes to decipher the build sticker that is pasted onto the front page of my service manual. I got the info for my spreadsheet from the web somewhere, but I can't remember where (sorry). Anyhow, I believe that the data is still current and it has worked OK for quite a few mk7 vehicles down here. You can download the file click here #8 · Sep 20, 2014

That's awesome! Definitely useful in the future Thank you! 0 Reply #9 · Sep 20, 2014 If you have a service or parts person at a VW store you chummy with, give them your VIN. Both service and parts have a system that gives them a full listing & description of each PR code for your VW specifically. Both of which can be printed. #10 · Aug 15, 2019 (Edited by Moderator) https://volkswagenforum.com/forum/vindecoder.php?vin=WVGMM77L45D013621 This link breaks down the options #11 · Aug 15, 2019 (Edited by Moderator) If it's for a later model VW, this will give you a FULL and exact duplicate of the Monroney sticker... https://www.knowmyvin.com #12 · Aug 15, 2019
