Detective Do Kang-Woo (Lee Jin-Uk) has left for Japan in search of answers to his past, while he tries to suppress the psychotic emotions that fill him with rage. Do Kang-Woo wakes up in a forest, abandoned and with a tattoo on his wrist. He is unable to remember what happened for the past 7 days.
Kang Kwon-Joo (Lee Ha-Na) continues to lead her team as they seek to save lives during the golden time after a crime occurs. She experiences pain with her hearing and is worried about the plight of Detective Do Kang-Woo. A series of murder cases seem to be tied to a website. Serial killer Bang Je-Soo (Kwon Yool) lurks in the background, while other mysterious figures come to the forefront.

Apr 08 2025 4:45 am Honestly, i was hesitant to watch the next seasons after the first season when i learned the male lead was changed from Jang Hyuk to Lee Jin Uk. I only know Jang Hyuk after watching Tell Me What You Saw, his character was remarkable there that i start looking for his other projects and discovered Voice. I watched Voice 1 long time ago, and has no intention of watching the other seasons due to the reviews. Because when it comes to storyline, i feel like the first has more cases and it showed the backstory of characters, especially, Kang Kwon Jo and how the Golden Time Team was formed.
Watching Bulgasal has lead me to know the actor Lee Jin Uk and when I saw his profile and realized he was the one who replaced Jang Hyuk and starred as main lead for two seasons, i got excited. I'm so happy i discover this actor, i don't understand why he is underrated when most of his projects are succesful in Korea. And he is also big in his home country, like he was named the "Master of Appearances" after all. His character in Voice adds value to the show because not only he is good looking and sexy but his backstory was also interesting. I also like how both actors in previous and this season have different approach. While, Jang Hyuk is more agressive and stubborn, Lee Jin Uk is much more calm yet calculated especially in season 2. I can feel his emotions and frustrations why the main culprit in harassing him and when he found out his friend is betraying him.
I would also say, he has more chemistry with Lee Hana as Jang Hyuk felt like an older brother or uncle to her.
Apr 08 2025 4:18 am I'm so happy they gave us 16 episodes for this season. I know this is gonna be the last season for Do Kang Woo's character but still they gave us enough to not miss him that much. I really hope he is still alive and just hiding somewhere due to his illness.
Also, first time seeing Lee Jin Uk looking stern. He really look scary when he ain't smiling.
Anyway, just want to comment how the lighting or tone of this season was too dark and gloomy, i had to adjust my brightness which is quiet painful to the eyes.
Nov 24 2024 1:53 am This session is good because lee jin wook is very animated to his character and the storyline is quite interesting and not boring. The police here act actively in catching criminals not too many boring dialogs. But unfortunately at the end of the story Special forces was wrong in determining the target so that do kang woo died. Here the author shows the stupidity of special forces who are not capable of choosing targets, and this makes little sense to me. But for the most part this session was quite interesting and successful

Feb 17 2023 2:59 pm Unlike many, I actually liked this season more than season 1. Still some similar annoyances....the overly long monologues in the worst times. When it's dangerous or someone else is in danger, characters waste time talking. But overall it was less annoying than season 1. Managed to watch it all without wanting to fast forward much.

Love the dark, gloomy colour scheme. Think it fits the story perfectly. The downside is having to adjust brightness on our own screens.

Aug 09 2022 2:28 pm Voice 2 Season 2 Episode (Boat scene when Capt Na Hong Soo dead body was found) Do Kang Woo touched the ID of Capt Na Hong Soo with his bloody fingers and touched the small box with Na's hair in it. As a detective he should know the sop or protocol, as well as the other detectives of Pungsan and Golden Time Team by stepping on the crime scene, they should be aware that they were contaminating the scene. I know it's too late for these observations.. just saying... so next Season of Voice, director and scriptwriter should consider this matter. Thank you.

Dec 20 2021 2:17 pm In the car, kang centre told team leader do about how she gained her hearing ability. How a car accident and the following surgery resulted in her miraculous ability. She tells do kang woo to believe in miracles. Even though apparently the writer had always intended for do kang woo to die, it's strange isn't it? This conversation they had? I mean what if the bullet to the head was do kang woo's miracle cure? I have read the writer's interview on how do kang woo was always supposed to die but then after season 4, the same writer says that usually main characters stay for atleast 3 season but due to various issues Derek cho had to be created for s4. All of these things are really contradictory and make me hope that maybe, just maybe, the death of team leader do is a red herring? The makers would have to be incredibly sadistic to give us the possibility of a cure in America and then just...kill him? Makers come on, don't do that
Dec 13 2021 2:06 am Rewatching the first 3 seasons of voice because of the huge disappointment that was season 4.... Makers bring back do kang woo. Even if its just for a few minuted. Even if it's just a cameo, please just show us he's alive and well and that he and kang centre will be reunited as partners. Lee jin wook isn't even that busy currently. They can get him on board since season 5 will probably air late 2022 or at the beginning of 2023. Its more than enough time. Makers you haven't properly concluded team leader do's arc. Dont do this to us. The ratings and feedback show what the viewers want

It's great, i really do recommend it, i had a big time gap between voice 1 and voice 2&3 (i didn't watch it realtime). And i thought i would have a lot of troubles catching up with the story line but no, season 2 and 3 was a fresh new start. The crime stories are also getting better, the way the actors and actreses deliver the emotions of the story is just...so good. And also that slowburn emotion between Kangwoo and Kwonjoo is just...perfect.
(spoiler alert) I do have some comments about how they ended season 3 tho, before i watch it, i knew Kangwoo would be dead by the end of the season (saw the pics from twitter), i was sad but i still want to see how they would portray the scene, i was hoping for some lastwords and more fight before they shot him but everything ended too quickly which made me even sadder, and i was also hoping that there would be a scene where Kwonjoo would be mourning about Kangwoo's death and remeniscing their memories together but it seems like the team just look past it and never talked about it??? that dissapoints me a bit. And it's also sad how Kangwoo and Kwonjoo started to care even more about each other but also they become more departed at the same time on season 3.
All and all great drama, great acting, and also great story. I'm still watching season 4, hope that it's still as good as the other seasons :)
Aug 14 2021 9:38 am (Spoilers) I came back after re-watching season 2 & 3. For me S2 & S3 will be my favorite season. And I agree that there is a possibility that Do timjangnim is not dead yet (but what I doubt is the shot in the head is the fatal part). I'm still mad when they pointed a gun to Do Kangwoo, I think this is very stupid and there's no reason to kill Do timjang even he's the one who worked so hard to catch Kaneki!
I hope their S5 airing on OCN again. And I really hope Do timjang comes back, honestly I'm quite disappointed with the S4. Starting from the less thriller side, they are too focused on finding the circus man so that the 112 cases are reduced. also disappointed with Seunghoon's acting

Jul 26 2021 1:30 am convinced that kang woo is not dead and still alive. At the end Kwon joo didn’t mention his name while naming the deceased police officers but only said he sacrificed something which could mean killing kaneki or something else. and kang woo was shown by himself somewhere on an island I believe..well hopefully he is alive and keeping his promise to na hong soo . and I feel like it was unnecessary to bring je soo back into the end when (so far) he’s not in voice 4. I get that je soo was the one that shot kang woo but I still feel like they should include je soo in voice 4 bc he’s not dead.
Jul 25 2021 10:14 am Just finished watching Voice Season 2 & decided to come here read all comments & putting up my own comments too. Personally, S2 & S3 Voice will always be my fav season in Voice. If S2 & S3 storyline is 'dark', then S3 storyline is 'blackout' (more dark, intense & sad).
The pain that Team Leader Do holding since S2 is really unbearable & sad to see. My fav part in this drama is during EP13 or EP14 when Det. Kim Joong-Ki came to Team Leader Do apartment while being drunk & said "If you are sick, you should told us. Don't keep your pain to yourselves." Seriously, I cried wholeheartedly during that scene. It breaks my heart so much to know if there are really someone who is close to us & have to face that kind of 'sickness' alone out there. Remember everyone, don't let this kind of people suffering alone by themselves. Before it's become too 'late', it is much better if we can reach out to them & helps as much as we can.SPOILERS ALERT~~~
For someone who comments by using 'Rise' name, I also have that thoughts that maybe Team Leader Do is still alive again because I also feel weird why Director Kang doesn't includes his name among her teammates that died & the atmosphere in hospital with everyone at there also seems so calm as they didn't feel sad enough that Team Leader Do are already 'dead'. Well, I just hope that what we thought will becomes true though because TL Do already made promise with Chief Na that he will go somewhere quiet & fixed his head. If TL Do really die then, well, I think that is realistic & a must because seeing how he always struggle to hide his 'monster' is painful & finally he can be at peace after what he have been went through.- sorry for the long reviews & comments*

so someone's who killed Do Kang Woo is Bang Jae Soo!!? look at the epilog Bang Jae Soo was carrying sniper gun.. i really love Voice series but for me the ending just kinda rushed and not really clear till end every season too rushed at the end :( but i still love this series, and yea i really wait season 4 i wanna watch Lee Kyu Hyung as villian so much

Jun 11 2021 4:44 pm I still didnt get it why the snipper shoot Do Kang Woo in the ending, he didnt do anything dangereous toward anyone alive at the moment. If he killed by the villain or suicide it more make sense.
Also i didnt like how kaneki is just dead like that, he deserved more torture after being the mastermind of all the shit happened in voice 2 and 3
Jun 09 2021 3:31 pm Lee Jin Wook did so well in Voice 2 & 3! I really wished they kept him for Voice 4, too, even for just a cameo. I still believe he didn't die, just made good of his promise that he will leave the police force once the case is solved so he can maintain his sanity. Eitherway, V2 & 3 are way better than V1 for me. Even if Lee Ha Na is still her same annoying self.

So I binged watching Voice season 1-3.
Season 1 was really good that it quites put me to a question why Mo Tae Gu was killed and what's with the psychiatric hospital was that?
When season 2, I thought they would investigate the psychiatric hospital from season but instead they open up a new whole plot and added new characters. I thought I would be disappoint with the season 2 but no, it may be new but it was also good. Specially how they will catch Je Soo. I really like the whole character of Kang Woo. I also like shipping him with Gwon Joo.
And lastly season 3, I was really attached with Kang Woo's character. I wasn't that disappointed when they kinda focus the story about Kang Woo's past on how he deals with his self. It added some new plot for the series. I like how Kang Woo fight for his own demons. I love it when Chief Na didn't give up on Kang Woo, but it was kinda sad that they have to kill his character. And lastly my comment, why did they have to kill Kang Woo? Like my poor little heart couldn't handle that last episode. I cried the whole time until now. That scene keeps on popping to my head. I just want justice for his character u know? Like from season 2-3 he keeps on fighting from his own demon while unraveling the truth. Just why. And they even let Je Soo live. Like what? and who the h was that woman playing the piano? I thought for a second it was Kaneki and Kang Woo's mom. But i guess not? I don't know anymore. Lol. AND I HAVE A QUESTION! On the epilogue scene, was it Kang Woo on the picture frame? I can't see it clearly tho.
But yeah, all I can do now is wait for season 4 to be explained. ;-;
Ps. I'm still crying while typing this. ;-;

Mar 07 2021 2:54 am Just finished S3. Contrary to what people are saying, Do Kang Woo did not die. They claimed he died, but he actually fulfilled his promise to Na Hong Su that he go away and fix his head. He basically quit the hero-life he’s been living. That’s why in her last monologue, Kang Gwon Joo did not group him with those “10 persons who lost their lives.” She thanked Do Kwang Woo for his sacrifice instead. Which could have meant anything.
I’m betting the writer’s gonna do a cameo of him in S4. In his last 2 scenes, he looked like he was in an island. And S4 is said to be set in Jeju. He’ll be there somewhere in the final episodes. If the writer becomes more drama-oriented, she’ll even develop the romance between Kang Woo and Gwon Joo. But this last part is only a probability. What’s fact is that Do Kwang Woo did not really die in S3.

Feb 17 2021 11:48 am this drama was everything and still is lol it was just so thrilling and it has a cool storyline and s3 was very much needed in my dumb pov as kangwoo and kwonjoo + her team would obviously not catch them in just a month yes they caught jesoo in s2 but that was literally the beginning haha my heart hurts so much for kangwoos character lmao it wasnt even his fault yet he had to take the fall for his brother that was ill, [spoiler] and that ending though!!!!!! 1. why the crap did they have to kill kangwoo like that, the writer should have made it so that kangwoo can somewhat keep his promise with hongsoo bc they played his ending scenes like idk 2 times why would they play with us like that :( 2. i still want to know how kwonjoo's hearing got better lol it just seems so sudden [end of spoilers] anyways voice is such a great drama!!!!! watch it if you get the chance to!!!!
and i cant take the male lead seriously in voice4 pls idk what it is about him but i just dont think he fits the 'vibe' of voice LOL we will see haha

Better than the other voices , I liked the fact that this show revolved around a police man with the urge to kill and he investigates and try's to catch an evil killer that sells body parts on the dark web this opened up a lot of opportunities for voice 3 to become the best voice series out there. But they failed to do so however the story was not that bad I found it quite interesting had some plot twists the ending of the show wasn't not that good it seems like they tried to rush the ending of the show it could of been better overall however all the voice series were very Good the one of the best and my favourite detective show out there I would rate this show 8.4 out of 10 very sad to see that this series will not carry on I hope they make a series 4 they could introduce a new lead charachter or also bring back jang hyuk From season one please make a season 4

1) How in the beginning it caught us with a very sad & tragic death of 2 beloved person for male & female lead It makes us need to stay to watch how they'll catch the monster & get revenge
2) How we learn about Kang Kwon Joo's hearing ability. In this season it really emphasize her ability which makes us goes "Woww she can do tht"
Unfortunately in season 2 & especially 3 they lost it That strong reason on why Im excited to watch already no more & its getting cliché & boring Kang Kwon Joo's hearing ability suddenly getting weaker
For god sake in season one she can hear what's going on at level 5 when she was on level 1 But in season 3 she can't even hear anything happens on diff room but same level If she lose the hearing ability due to the explosion why not highlight it to us Idk I just can't continue to watch, Season 3 only 3 episode I gave up Do Kang Woo did a great job, its just the storyline is not convincing
But still im hoping if they make it in season 4 Im hoping Jang Hyuk will join & maybe they get new enemy due to their effort to bring down the dark web

Aug 03 2019 8:53 am SPOILERS! -- Cant believe finally season 3 has ended. I just finish watching it. It was the best thriller kdrama I ever watch. Thank you for the cast and especially the writer who did a great job making a good story line for season 3. I've been followed voice since season 1 and not to say which one the best season because every season is so thrilling and enjoyable to watch. Each episode give you goosebumps and it'll make you dying to know what next and next. Well it kinda sad that do kang woo died in the last episode, but I guess sometimes we need an ending that not as we expected right? Thats the reality. I will surely miss Golden Time Team and kang center so much. Once again thank you for the cast, they did a really good job!>3

Jul 18 2019 12:27 am I've concluded that Voice 2 is the best one out of the 3 seasons. Voice 1 was great but somehow I'm becoming more attached to Do Kangwoo's character tho.. His character is rare but charming. Plus, the cases in Voice 2 were more thrilling and exciting than the other two seasons. However, Voice 3 did carried out a lot of serious and sensitive issues and it makes me emotional when watching it. Overall, Voice series is one of the best crime drama that I've ever watched. Highly recommended!!
(I guess Lee Jinwook is really an expert in carrying a role of a detective as he did it so well and his acting is amazing. His character in Return as a detective is ridiculously dissapointing because he suits the role but the writer didn't know how to write a better character's development for him)

Jul 07 2019 7:03 am Sloppy season with a storyline that dragged out for way too long. You learn absolutely nothing important until the final two episodes. The only bright spot this season was Chief Na's character development. I also wish that the show would stop forcing connections. I know it's a small world but it's not that small. Not every case needs to be related to a team member. I swear one episode it's a cousin, next is a wife, the one after is a friend. Next season it will be someone's dog haha.
Season 1 was amazing. Season 2 was decent. This one was bad. I'll skip Season 4. They should really freshen up the storyline but looks like they're choosing to drag the story even more by bringing back Je Soo

Also, I'm sorry to says this since Kang Kwon Joo delivered her character perfectly. I like her too don't take me wrong. But I just kept imagine what if Bae Donna accept the offer insted. It thinks she's an amazing actress and fits the role perfectly. But still like I said, the current one also amazing.

I don't know but somehow I got a feeling that Do Kang Woo didn't die? We haven't seen any funeral or a farewell at his grave or something at all? That really confuses me. I think in case of Lee Jin Wook will accept the offer for season 4 they left an open door for the story. And for that woman at the end, who Bang Jae Soo was talking to, I think it was Kouseke's and Kaneki's mother and I think both of them got that evil blood from her... I hope we won't wait for the upcoming season and I hope we'll get to see Lee Jin Wook again cuz I really think he suits very much to be a part of the Golden Team ^_^

So I just finished the last episode, and Im just sad and upset. Meanwhile, Kaneki was finally defeated, Do Kang Woo died...I don’t get why they had to kill him like that? He didn’t do threaten to kill anyone, did he ? Even if it was bc he killed Kaneki it still doesnt make sense they just shot him like that. Even criminals only get shot in their hands or legs so that they are paralyzed and not actually dead. Kang Woo is not even a big threat and yet they killed him like that???

They are too focus on Do timjangnim story, while the "voice main character" (Kang center) does not seem necessarily to be in the story. I'd love to see how Kang center fight with her hearing ability deterioration.
But this still one of my favorite k-drama list... Hope they will show more Kang center :D

But the drug is losing the effect and he can no longer suppress it so the evil him is unleashed. Jang hyuk should come back to combat him. But make the fight worthwhile tvN, don't make it one sided, then I will forgive the ending of Voice 1. Thank you.
