Detective Shogo Higuchi (Toshiaki Karasawa) and Emergency Command Center Leader Hikari Tachibana (Yoko Maki) continue to work together to save victims and catch criminals as quickly as possible. They face an evil criminal, but the criminal is not a simple evil person. The criminal exhibits exploding anger, which some younger people have against society. Younger people feel the criminal's behavior is not just a crime, but like representing themselves.

Grandmalee Nov 10 2021 3:25 pm One gets absorbed by the fast pace of the series, which, as entertainment goes, does a decent job. One wonders how Yoko Maki's character's extraordinary hearing works because on occasion, it's nothing short of miraculous. Would she be any good as the unit's supervisor without it? The most disappointing aspect is the portrayal of the bad guy. (Is he played by Masanobu Ando? Why is his picture not even up there among the cast?) Why does he harbor such a deep hatred for the detective, played by Toshiaki Karasawa, who saved him from a physically abusive mother? Did his subsequent education that allowed him to become a doctor, then a forensic pathologist, do nothing to change his childhood view of his mother, who left cigarette burn scars all over his body? That kind of a distorted mind could very well exist, irrespective of all mitigating factors and influences to modify or correct it, but the series does nothing to explain it and merely draws a direct line between his infatuation with his mother and his hatred of the detective. Without a better development of this character, the whole story seems like cheap thrills to me.
