It will cost you at least $5-6k so start saving. And he doesn't live close to Canada, lol. Listen, you might get some rather negative replies on this subject, because threads like this are frequent, the threadstarter insists it's going to happen, gets all defensive, flamefest ensues, and in the end nothing happens. With that said, good luck if you are truly serious about pursuing this swap. With built engine and nitrous kit, you are capable of generating 400whp and 450wtq with the same conditions. The VQ swap (in any form), does not allow you to retain cruise control. You will throw a check engine light (can be disabled if you wish), for various reasons, beyond our control. This does NOT affect performance at all. The codes are emissions related. Your vehicle WILL pass a tail-pipe "sniffer test", however, it will fail a OBD-II plug in test. Check your local laws for what is/isn't acceptable. We provide a 30 day "no bull****" warranty on the engine. If something goes wrong (outside of GROSS negligence), we will replace your engine, at no charge. I understand but what are we looking at here as far as time? like, are you doing these swaps right now? how long would we have to be without the car? can you do this to a QG? how much extra work is there? thanks #12 · May 23, 2007 awsome travis i work on nissans all day 5 days a week so im used to how nissan does there stuff ive already removed 2 vqs out some pathfinders and 3 qrs out of 2 altis and 1 from a spec v so the work is not bothering me i jsut need the materials and figure a way to do it replacing the QG ill most likly still be asking questions lol i really like ht vq40s in the r51 pathfinders it had the same block with a bigger stroke that would be an awsome swap lol *i have to vq long blocks sitting at work to be processed by warranty* my boss said that he could probably work something out with me #13 · Jun 7, 2007 (putting on flame suit) Back from the dead... I too am considering this for my GXE and have these questions: 1. Does the XE/GXE use a different crossmember/kframe than the Spec? 2. Will the VQ35DE/6speed motor/tranny mounts work on a VQ30DE-K/Auto swap? I have rebuilt and swapped engines so that is not a concern. I am looking for a reliable and powerful daily driver... the DE-K/Auto is my weapon of choice... #14 · Jun 7, 2007 The crossmember and K-member are completely different than the spec v.. The VQ35 ECU will not work with the VQ, because of differences in the crank angle trigger/pickup and camshaft pickup sensors.. The two are completely incompatible.
