I tried a full scan selecting crafter from the auto scan list and it scans the van ok, but there is no attempt to scan the ABS module 03, so my question is where is the abs module in vcds for the crafter? Can I scan the abs using vcds? Any info greatly appreciated. Best regards Andy Aug 4, 2016 #2 L

I was working on a crafter last week and on my autoscan it contacted address 95 ESP Hope ive been some help Aug 5, 2016 #5 B

If you have all power and grounds for the ABS module, it is most likely a bad weld joint within the module from pins to board. There are dozens of videos on YouTube.......... Aug 9, 2016 #7 B

I unplugged abs plug and scanned with vcds and engine module threw up abs no communication errors so the abs must be alive to some extent the I think his leads me back to the ABS module having a fault, I'm thinking next step send pump away to get tested, any recommendations where to send it or any other things to try feel free to suggest, we still have ABS, ESP and 1 other error light on and MOT due!! :( Code: Tuesday,09,August,2016,19:30:37:05805 VCDS -- Windows Based VAG/VAS Emulator Running on Windows XP x86 VCDS Version: 16.8.0.1 Data version: 20160801 DS254 www.Ross-Tech.com VIN: WV1ZZZ2EZC6032361 License Plate: EBAY MODULE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chassis Type: 2E (2E - VW Crafter (LT3 / 2006 >)) Scan: 01 91 92 93 94 95 96 97 98 99 9A 9B 9C 9D 9E 9F A0 A1 A2 A3 B0 B1 B2 B3 B4 B5 B6 C1 VIN: WV1ZZZ2EZC6032361 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Address 01: Engine (J623-CKTB) Labels: 03L-906-012-CKT.clb Part No SW: 03L 906 012 Q HW: 03L 906 012 A Component: R4 2,0L EDC H23 1860 Revision: 72H23--- Serial number: VWXDZ0L1001387 Coding: 0119401020040C080000 Shop #: WSC 00000 555 00117 ASAM Dataset: EV_ECM20TDI01103L906012Q 001011 ROD: EV_ECM20TDI01103L906012Q.rod VCID: 326F53586539CCD264-8066 No fault code found. It went to abs specialist, he had oscilloscope on it and fixed it, not sure exactly what was done it, was a friends van but it was away for a while to get repaired, I think a brand new abs pump was fitted too Dec 6, 2017 #10 smirnoffrules

Code: Your using VCDS Version: 15.7.0.2 which is 16 versions out of date. http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/download/current.php I'm wondering why those VAG codes have letters in them, as far as I know EODB II codes start with a letter B, C, P or U. Dec 6, 2017 #12 Uwe

It wasn't that far out of date on Sunday, 26 June, 2016 when the scan was done. ;)

The modules in that snippet are not emissions-related and thus of no concern to the generic OBD regulations. Moreover, those modules are MBZ (rather than VAG) and that's exactly how the factory scan too shows those codes -- in hexadecimal. -Uwe- Dec 12, 2017 #13 smirnoffrules
