Xi 8088 is an IBM PC/XT compatible processor board in ISA board form factor. It offers several enhancements over the standard IBM PC/XT, such as support of PS/2 keyboard and mouse and built-in real time clock with NVRAM (also known as CMOS setup memory). Click to expand...
In other words: it's more like PS/2 Model 30 (or 25), than XT. M

We had a lot of great exhibitors so it's not fair to say that Sergey stole the show, but his exhibit was definitely popular. (This is yet another reason to try to make it to the local retro-computing events if you can.) B

I bought a backplane from ebay, and used regular I/O card and VGA card. Chuck(G)

be aware, if you build xi8088, a lot of us on vogons did a build and we all had problems. There is some kind of race condition or timing issue with the board, we could never figure it out. Your better off looking at the micro-8088 he made using the faraday chipset. I believe its known to be working much better. Ruud

I have two boards and I never experienced problems. But one board runs at 30/10 MHz and the other at 40/13.33 MHz. You must log in or register to reply here. Share: Facebook X Bluesky LinkedIn Reddit Pinterest Tumblr WhatsApp Email Share Link
