This fact sheet and the Statement Gold Account Terms and
Conditions / Wayfoong Gold Account Agreement should be read
in conjunction with each other.
HSBC’s Wayfoong Statement Gold is an easy way to invest in
gold. It enables you to make buy and sell transactions in gold
with minimum effort.
Key features of Wayfoong Statement Gold
•
Wayfoong Statement Gold is 99 fine gold in mace and 100%
backed up by Loco London Gold.
•
When customers buy/sell Wayfoong Statement Gold, no
physical delivery is involved.
•
The minimum quantity available is one mace. (note: 1 tael =
10 maces)
•
Wayfoong Statement Gold holdings may be used as a
collateral for overdrafts.

HSBC guarantees to buy back any amount of Wayfoong
Statement Gold at the current quoted price.

There are no handling charges other than the actual buying or
selling price at the time of the transaction. Any fees and

the calculation of the trading spread. The spread between
buying and selling price will not exceed 4% of the prevailing
market price of gold and it generally depends on the
transaction amount and prevailing market conditions. The
Bank reserves the right to change the spread range by giving
not less than three month’s notice to account holders.

or by current or savings account transfer.

No security and storage problems as in the case of tangible

also be aware of the risk of foreign exchange rate fluctuations and customer may
experience a loss when s/he converts Wayfoong Statement Gold back to his/her
home currency.

The Bank may close the Wayfoong Statement Gold account by giving not less

the price of gold upon account closure.

The product is subject to both the actual and perceived measures of the credit
worthiness of the Bank and there is no assurance of protection against a
default by the Bank in respect of its repayment obligations.

The terms and conditions governing the Statement Gold account are governed
by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong
Special Administrative Region.
•
In giving this authorization, the Securities and Futures Commission has made
no assessment of, nor does it take responsibility for the financial soundness or
merits of the scheme nor has it verifies the accuracy or truthfulness of
statements made on opinions expressed in the document etc.
