What To Expect From 2021 Honda CB1000R?

Imagine the structure of the bike that is a part similar to the saviour of the world Optimus Prime from block bluster movie Transformers.

Guess. Is there any motorcycle that comes close to it?

Yes, that’s correct back in 2008 Honda had brought a bit similar motorcycle. Not entirely but bit similar. You are right we are talking about the CB1000R.

Let’s go back for a while and see how it all started.

Honda started manufacturing CB1000R from 2008 till 2016.

Later from 2016 Honda discontinued the CB1000R from its production line.

However Honda had different plans in 2017, and we were able to see the resurrection of CB1000R with 143.5 hp of power and 998cc, inline four-cylinder engine. The new style that it received was dubbed as “Neo-Sports Café.”

Later in 2020, there were no major updates in CB1000R. All the updates were related to painting scheme that too for Europe.

Minor Updates on 2020 CB1000R

• Triple clamp: Silver → Black
• Fuel Tank end: Silver → Same colour as the tank
• Headlight: Matt Silver → Matt Ballistic Black Metallic
• Stem: Silver → Black
• Bar-end: Silver → Black
• Rear shock absorber: Red → Black
• Swingarm: Silver → Expected to be Black

Now with no major changes, we expect the next 2021 version to arrive with few upgrades.

So what will be those?

Well, we feel exterior is one aspect where Honda may focus. Again we expect the aluminium parts on the exterior to be reduced, and may subsequently help Honda to bring down its price tag.

Do we see a change in design? 

In March 2020 Honda had unveiled a concept called the CB-F. With the below specs.

The engine is equipped with a 998cc water-cooled 4-stroke DOHC 4-valve in-line 4-cylinder engine. That has a smooth start-up and powerful torque. 

The frame uses a lightweight, high-tensile steel mono backbone.

Again the important question that remains. Will the new CB1000R get the exterior inspired from the CB-F concept?

Well, there are multiple possibilities. As far as the release date is concerned it is still under the wrap but we may expect some communication from Honda by the end of 2020.
