BAS/ESP and ABS lights on. The problem is intermittent. Lights were on for 2 days then off, after one week on again for many days. I removed the steering wheel and cleaned contacts of the sensor with a dry cleaner, after reassembly it worked again for 2 days and now it's not working. Any clue how to solve this? It must be some electric problem or dry soldering as if not the sensor would just die completely. Yes it's straight, I had it aligned last week as I read about the 6° tolerance (but it was within tolerance before alignment). Now I ordered a used sensor for just 25 euros but anyway I would like to repair mine if possible. I don't have DAS, anyway you can reset adaptation just by unplugging the battery and then reinitialize the sensor by turning the wheel all the way to the left and to the right or viceversa. That doesn't cure the problem. Or better, when I removed the sensor I had to unplug the battery after that as I said the sensor worked for two days and died again. At that time the scanner was returning 2 errors: c1140 (steering angle sensor) and c1504 (steering angle sensor not initialized). After reinitialization I could clear DTCs and now I have c1140 again. first start your car and turn wheels to left and right all the way 3 times and light should goes off if you still have problem you need DAS to to the rest ..
