Background[]

Once hailed as the strongest B't created by the Machine Empire, X's original blood donor is Karen, the Spirit General of the West and thus obeys only her. According to Fou Lafine, X was modeled after the mythical winged horse kirin that rescues people when the world is in chaos. In the manga, X is often seen in a shade of pink; in the anime, his color is white, then later white-gold after being upgraded.

Five years prior to the start of the series, Karen and X managed to escape The Machine Empire but was attacked and crashed into the sea. While Karen made it alive into Kamui Island, X was recovered but was deemed useless without his donor's blood and was thrown into the scrap pile.[1]

X is subsequently revived by the blood of Teppei Takamiya, whom Karen had infused her blood during her stay on Kamui Island.

Neo X[]

After a series of battles on the way to The Area with Teppei, X is left in a severely damaged state that he eventually succumbs to his injuries. He is rescued by Hokuto during which parts of his body were upgraded and further enhanced using the Break Heart, reviving him as "Neo X'.[2]

Abilities[]

X possesses incredible agility that he can move as fast as lightning. This is further enhanced when he is in Battle Mode.

• Sonic attack[3] sends out waves that disturbs the hearing of B't and is inaudible to humans. It is a significantly weaker version of Je t'aime's Deadly Carol that it renders no effect to stronger enemies such as the Dark Knights.[4]
• Prism of Aura is a special ability that gives X incredible power and speed. It is triggered by his connection to Teppei.
• Guard System is a passive ability that allows a B't and his donor to be impervious to elements such as intense heat and pressure.
