There are huge differences between your standard X6 and X6M its night and day. The X6M is a beast, absolute power and performance. Interiors are much better in the X6M. Pro: Performance, Power, Prestige Con: Fuel Mileage, Maintenance Cost Recommendation: Drive both and then decide for yourself

I'll never by another BMW unless it's an M. That's all I have to say about that. __________________ ACID.

The power, handling, and interior all lead to miles and miles of grins. Now that BMW is slapping ///M badges on everything, people need to know they’re getting an appearance package, not a real ///M car. I don’t know why BMW didn’t just bring back the M-Technik moniker and leave the badges off. That said, the maintenance costs are higher. __________________ 2017 X5 ///M 2019 X3 XDrive 30i 2003 Porsche C4S

BMW is following the business model that AMG set. Slapping AMG badging on everything, in the hopes to attract more younger buyers, hoping that they don't know the difference. This argument has been debated over and over in MBWorld forum. __________________ It is never taken for granted that a commitment to speed and acceleration must be matched with an equivalent ambition when it comes time to stop!

I’m aware - it’s a shame and a marketing ploy. I recently had a guy park near me at the store who lamented that it took so long for him to buy an M car. In his X5 M50… I feel like Audi is pushing the S4/6/etc down into their base models to separate them from their RS line. What’s next? A Shelby Fiesta? Last edited by m3fuz; 06-13-2021 at 07:16 PM..

And I think that same philosophy holds true for BMW ///M. These bean counters are looking for profits, and an easy way to generate revenue, is by slapping ///M badges on everything, tricking the un-initiated into thinking they have a M Car. __________________ It is never taken for granted that a commitment to speed and acceleration must be matched with an equivalent ambition when it comes time to stop!

I had a 2010 X6 50 and a 2013 X6M. The ONLY difference between them was the power. I ordered a 2016 F16 because I really didn't need all those horses and I wasn't thrilled with the packages in the F86. I was miserable. It seems to me BMW watered down the non M. It was no longer stiff and tight. It was cushy with loose steering even when in sports modes. I lasted 3 months and got into a 2016 F86. I know others here have disagreed with me. It's subjective and has to do with personal driving preferences. Good luck with whatever you choose. __________________ I thought I was a good person but the way I react when people drive slowly in the left lane would suggest otherwise

The former is a 3.0l diesel tri-turbo in line 6 and is no comparison to the twin turbo 4.4l petrol v8 in the F16 50i, let alone the F86 M. The 50i, being no comparison in itself to the bigger turbos, forged internals and upgraded everything in the M. Make no mistake, purists will say that the X5/X6M are not true M cars, however one could say that the essence of M is to take a standard vehicle and turn it into a track monster.... and the Bavarians have truly delivered that with the X5/6 M. Yes these are no M3s and M5s around a track as you'll feel the weight of the high riding beats in corners, but they are not far behind. I have a 2017 F85 X5M and it is surprisingly car like. I also have a 2014 F15 50i (wifes), and will take that anyday over the M50d, the latter whilst no slouch for a diesel, still lacks the evocative visceral sound of a v8. The diesel is a compromise for those who seek decent level of performance but without giving up the fuel economy side of things. Do yourself a favour. Take all 3 for a drive. Make a decision. Share it here 👍🏽

The Fiesta ST is actually an amazing car!
