Almost Finished WIP

For once, not my OTP. Just something I wrote on a whim, while wondering if there was a second reason Alfa put up so many posts about Timothy when publishing Special 6.

AN: Angst, obscurity, implied Dark Eldar, violence, Jaghatai’s hard-to-read speech. Not yet Beta Read. This fic will probably be jossed in the next episode.

He didn’t realize the full impact of his actions until later.

At the time, he was just doing what things do. Timothy is a good boy, and good boys obey people. The people are the strong ones.

Timothy is lucky. There are three reasons why.

Master Supreme Overlord is the strongest people. Master Supreme Overlord had many different people in his sanctum. Many people and things warm his bed. Everything is Master Supreme Overlord’s plan.

It’s simple. Since everything is Master Supreme Overlord’s plan, Timothy doesn’t have to worry about being a bad boy by Master dying or losing or being made not people by other people. Master Supreme Overlord cannot fall.

Timothy has been comforted by this. It makes obeying easy. Timothy obeys Master Supreme Overlord above all others, so the only way to not obey is to be stupid. Timothy is not stupid.

But he was stupid, because now Master Supreme Overlord is dead.

Fic idea:

K so I was rereading one of my own recent meta posts (noticing poor grammar and incomplete ideas) and I had an idea for a short TTS angst/drama fic

It’s basically Boreale working through some stress (by intense training exercises and beating the crap out of things) and Diomedes kinda watching/helping (by sparring) before they go to make sandwiches in ep 27. Basically two adults confronting the fact that:

A) they are not children, but they feel like kids watching their parents fight. They are adults, and thrust capable of greater logic than children, but still the emotional reactions are powerful (which is confusing if they don’t know that Magnus is their primarch- otherwise intensity of emotions can be attributed to Primarch bond)

B) they are facing a challenge that cannot be stopped with Steel Rain, clever battle tactics, healthy combat, or stealing something. Thus putting them in a unique position of facing a form of conflict they have less experience dealing with, after long and varied careers successfully handling conflict

C) this conflict has less high stakes than the various wars they’ve been in, but regardless it is more pressing and emotionally weighted to them than some wars have been- which is contradictory to logic and thus confusing

Basically I want to see them be brothers to each other in very unusual circumstances

So I’ve been so fucking busy with classes I have made very little progress on writing anything in the last three months. This is one of if not the hardest semester of my college life. On the other hand I keep coming up with lots of meta and I like. Just today come up with a bunch of expies where I take characters from other works and transplant them to 40k as background characters.

Okay but the three songs I can 100% visualize Magnus and the Captain General singing in-universe as duets with minimal lyric changes are “Take me or Leave Me” “A Little Less Sixteen Candles A Little More Touch Me” and “One Week”

First one has the line “Women what is it about them” replaced with “Ugh! Men, what is it about them” and for both singers to wind up topless by the end of the song, much like how Maureen and Joanne lost their jackets in the 2005 film production

Second one replaces “Sleeping on your parents porch” with “sleeping on the palace porch” and the lyrics “What are you waiting for, kiss her kiss her” with “why are you waiting, hm? Kiss him, kiss him”

Third one has no particular lyric changes in mind, but every line about how the singer takes off his shirt alternates between the two of them and is accompanied by the singer actually stripping

I don’t know why I think half-naked people are inherently funny whenever there’s sexual tension in the scene

Something that may or may not be obvious to other people is that I wrote the first chapter of Three Times They Don’t specifically with my theory for Kitten’s identity in mind. Which is something that I’ve never posted about (that I can find). See, I’ve got a million self-contradicting theories about what Kitten has done for the past millennia, and who he’s become and all the different ways his character might have developed, but only ONE theory about who he was before the Heresy. Huge info dump and evidence for my theory below.

So writing update

Being in quarantine makes it harder to get into the happy-silly-fluffy mindset that 3TtD needs, but I managed to make some progress today (500 words, yay)! And re-structured the second chapter. It’s now planned for eight scenes/sections, one of which tbh I’m probably gonna drop later, but is being kept for now as it provides contrast with a scene in part 1 (it’s basically just more geeking out, with the key difference being that it’s from Magnus’ POV, CG is more comfortable and doesn’t need to be so in the zone to talk, and Magnus is more interested in CG’s opinions than in immediate distractions).

But yeah. The most recent video with Whammudes in the sewers helped me touch up some of the first scenes in the chapter, and I’ve figured out ways to tie the first few scenes together. Also, hoping I don’t jinx myself, the DMV scene which has been floating around since chapter 1 may FINALLY have a place to go where it doesn’t completely destroy suspension of disbelief. It may also be two to three times longer, which will take time to write.

Honestly since quarantine started I’ve been getting nothing but ideas for this recursive fanfic in another fandom entirely (because it has much darker tones), so I’m glad to get something going on TTS fanfic. My first multi-chapter that I haven’t abandoned yet- and chapter 2 is taking foreeeeever.

Also like everything I’ve got is either bare-bones or purple prose. I’ve gotta get a rough draft done, THEN I can start editing the entire thing and adding more humor.
