Crowd-pleasing and easy to make, this baked brie is such a delicious appetizer for any occasion. You don’t need any special equipment to make this baked brie recipe, and it looks amazing while being effortless. It’s definitely something I like to have on hand as it’s great for entertaining last-minute guests.

Why You’ll Love Making Baked Brie with Jam
- I mean, who doesn’t love warm, melty cheese?! It’s fast, easy, and flavourful! Plus perfect for the busy holiday season as all you have to do is throw it in the oven so you can spend more time catching up with your guests, and less time in the kitchen.
- It’s perfect on its own as an appetizer, but it can also be a part of a larger charcuterie board.
- You only need two ingredients! If you’re like me and hoard cheese when you spot a sale, this is considered a kitchen-staples recipe. Perfect for last-minute entertaining.
Ingredients Needed to Make Baked Brie

- Brie — I use a whole wheel of brie. However, if you can only find brie wedges, you can still bake it, you’ll just need to place it in a baking dish. When you unwrap the brie, the rind should look fresh and white. It should not be wet, slimy, or have brown spots.
- Jam — I use strawberry jam for this but you can change it up.
How to Make Baked Brie

- Heat the oven to 400°F.
- Place the wheel of brie onto a parchment-lined sheet pan.

- With a small paring knife, remove the rind from the top of the brie. I do so by carefully cutting a border and using a spoon to scrape the rind off. Then top the exposed brie cheese with jam.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the size of your brie. Once done, serve with some crackers.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- It can be difficult to transfer melty brie, so you can place the whole sheet of parchment onto the serving platter or cut the parchment around the cheese once it’s on the serving platter.
- I like to top off the brie with some fresh herbs but that’s optional.
- No need to go for the pricey brie. The store-brand wheel of brie is perfect for baking.
- Top this with some runny honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness.
- Add some chopped nuts for a change in texture! I like some chopped pistachios, pecans, and walnuts.

Any jam you have on hand works. Strawberry, blueberry, and fig jam are my favorite.
Do you take the rind off brie before baking?I take off the top of the rind so I can spread jam on top of the wheel of brie. However, I keep the sides of the brie’s rind on as it helps the cheese hold its shape so it doesn’t all melt out. The rind is edible, so feel free to keep it on.
What do you serve with baked brie?I usually just serve baked brie with crackers but crostini is great as well. Fresh fruit such as apple slices, pears, grapes, and oranges. You can also drizzle some honey over the baked brie. Nuts or seeds can also be added on top of the jam before serving.
Do you bake brie covered or uncovered? There’s no need to cover the brie before baking.
What to do with leftover baked brie?If you have leftover baked brie, wrap it up and store it in the fridge. If you want, you can reheat the brie in the microwave (in 15-second intervals) or oven so it’s melty again. Or, just slice it up once it’s firm again and use it in sandwiches.
What’s the difference between double and triple cream cheese? The difference between double or triple cream depends on their butterfat percentage. Double cream requires 60% to 75% butterfat whereas triple cream requires a minimum of 75% butterfat. You can use either for this recipe!
