Why This Recipe Works
There's nothing particularly difficult about making baked Brie. The two most important things to keep in mind:
- Make sure you get it hot enough to melt.
- Make sure the flavor profiles you've chosen for toppings work well together.
Pretty easy stuff. Other baked Brie appetizers can get expensive and/or have an extensive ingredient list. Our recipe uses only a handful of ingredients to create a simple yet addictively delicious flavor profile, with lots of delicious options to suit any and all palates.
Ingredients
Brie | A soft cheese made from cow's milk that is ideal for melting. It has a bloomy rind that is 100% edible. The buttery, mild flavor is great for pairing with fruit and nuts. If needed, you can use Camembert in a pinch, which has a slightly stronger flavor than Brie but melts beautifully just the same. For this recipe, you'll need an 8-16 ounce wheel of Brie. The rind should look fresh and white, and beware of wet, slimy, or brown spots.

Preserves, Jam, or Jelly | It's not hard to find a fruity flavor of jam that pairs well with baked Brie. Fig jam is a classic combination, but apricot, cherry, pear, apple, lingonberry (similar to cranberries but not as tart), and raspberry jam or jelly are all wonderful options!
Want to go the homemade route? Our cranberry sauce with orange juice would make a delicious brie topper.

Nuts | Chopped almonds, pecans, walnuts, or pistachios are all great options for a crunchy baked Brie topping.
Optional Brie Toppers
If you want to level up and deck out your Brie, these ingredients are superb!
Honey | A drizzle of honey covers the nuts nicely and keeps them from burning. You could actually use it in place of jam for a full honey-flavored effect.
Fresh Herbs | A pinch of fresh herbs makes a great garnish! Minced thyme or rosemary adds a hint of savory and complexity to a very simple dish like baked Brie with jam. However, a little goes a long way, so use in small quantities.
Dried Fruit | Much like the essence of the preserves, jam, or jelly, the flavor profiles of dried figs, apricots, cherries, cranberries are a perfect complement to baked Brie! Make sure you chop larger dried fruit into bite-sized pieces before topping off your baked brie with it.
We use a delicious combo of dried fruit, nuts, and fresh herbs in our Party Cheese Ball with Goat Cheese. It's a cheesy showstopper with unique, delicious flavors that always wows the crowd!
How to Make Baked Brie
Prep | Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place Brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. This makes it easier to serve. Score across the top through the rind but not too deep into the cheese. You could also bake the brie in a Brie baker or a small baking dish with a two-to-three-cup capacity.

Top | Spoon jam, jelly, or preserves over the top of Brie. Sprinkle with nuts and drizzle with honey, if using.

Bake | Transfer the Brie to a baking sheet. Bake for about 10-15 minutes. You can also bake Brie in the air fryer 350°F for about five minutes.

Favorite Combos to Try
- Honey with chopped walnuts and flakey salt.
- Fig jam with chopped dried figs, fresh, minced rosemary, and chopped pecans, pistachios, or walnuts.
- Sour cherry preserves with chopped almonds.
- Lingonberry jam with fresh, minced rosemary.
- Apricot jam with chopped almonds, a drizzle of honey, and a pinch of flakey salt.
How to Serve Baked Brie
Baked Brie can be served from a Brie baker if you use one, or directly on a serving platter, which is where the parchment paper comes in handy.

The parchment paper actually serves two purposes in this recipe. Most importantly, it enables you to easily pick up the Brie and transfer it to the platter after baking. Secondly, the parchment paper adds layers and texture to your serving platter.
Pro tip: Crumble the paper before baking for even more texture. Food bloggers do this all the time to add interest and dimension to photos, and it works just the same in real life!
What to Eat with Baked Brie
You'll want to serve your baked brie with jam alongside some sturdy crackers, toasted baguette slices, or even apple slices. Avoid flimsy crackers that will buckle under light pressure from a spreader or butter knife.
If you're pulling out all the stops with toasted baguette slices, you might want to add these Goat Cheese Toasts to the party menu. They're beyond easy and would make an excellent addition to your spread! And speaking of a party menu, add Mini Pigs in a Blanket to the line up if Brie isn't everyone's thing! (But we can't see that being the case!)

You can also serve baked brie on a charcuterie board with more goodies on the side, such as cured meats, like prosciutto and salami, dried fruits, additional cheeses, grapes, fresh berries, and so on. Get creative! This is a dish you can have fun with and customize as much or as little as you want.
If we are talking wine pairings, a fruity Pinot Noir, a light Cabernet Sauvignon, a buttery Chardonnay, or a bubbly Champagne are all amazing complements to baked Brie with jam. Each one will pull the wonderful flavors from all the components of this dish.
Can Baked Brie Be Made in Advance?
No. This dish is best served hot out of the oven. Eventually, the jam's colors will bleed into the cheese and appear somewhat off-putting. It still tastes great the next day, just not company-worthy.
To reheat your Brie, warm it back up in the oven at 350 degrees until it's nice and melty again.
