Castle Creations CC-BEC RX Battery Eliminator Circuit

Castle Creations CC-BEC RX Battery Eliminator Circuit

What the heck is a BEC? CC BEC Battery Eliminator Circuit is a little device that eliminates the need for a receiver and servo battery pack. It draws higher voltage from the motor batteries and drops it to a voltage level that is suitable for your receiver and servos. This is required in applications which draw high power for multiple servos or use more than 3S motor packs, as most ESCs with linear BECs are not designed for these applications. The CC BEC uses a Switch Rate method that is vastly more efficient than common circuits that sweat off much of your power through a heat sink.

Peak Current Output: 10 amps Continuous Current Output: @12 Volts input 7amps, @ 24volts input 5 amps ** Output Voltage: 5.1 volts out of the package, user may set output voltage from 4.8 to 9 using the Castle Link (sold separately). Input Voltage: 5 to 25.2v (2S to 6S LiPo) Length: 1.2" (30mm), Width: .6" (15mm), Height: 4" (10mm) Weight: 0.4 oz (11 grams)

**Ratings are determined with a 5mph airflow on the BEC. Servo connectors are not rated for current in excess of 5 amps. Users are encouraged to replace the connectors if more than 5 amp currents are anticipated. Modifications available below. For models containing digital servos (3D Heli's for sure!) which could demand currents 4 amps or more, increasing the output connection with double leads is strongly urged.

Castle Creations CC-BEC PRO Battery Eliminator Circuit

Castle Creations CC-BEC PRO Battery Eliminator Circuit

Need a BEC to drive a really large load? Useful for high servo counts or many digital servos on larger craft. Use as a power supply aboard your UAV to drive sensor, transmitters or whatever your client has you testing.

NOTE: CC BEC Pro should never be operated in series or parallel with another BEC or backup receiver pack connected to the RX/Servo side of the circuit.

Advice from Dave on setting voltage: For simulating a typical 4.8V RX pack set voltage 5.1 to 5.4. For simulating a 6V pack, set voltage to 6.4 to 6.8. Battery packs are not any set voltage but work over a range of voltages. Think about what your trying to simulate. A 4.8v pack is empty at about 4.4v, full at about 6v. A 6v pack is empty at 5.5 and full at about 7.5. For heli's where the tail servo and gyro won't take 6v packs, what the MFG is saying is it won't take 7.5V. Setting heli voltage to even 5.8 or 5.9 is fine as it just looks like a 4.8V pack hot off the charger. For older 2.4GHZ systems (Anything not Hitec/Airtronics and pre 2011 gear) we reccomend setting voltage to 5.4-6V range MINIMUM.

Dimension Engineering ParkBEC 6V ~WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!

Dimension Engineering ParkBEC 6V ~WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!

The ParkBEC 6V is the 6 volt output version of our ParkBEC, the smallest and lightest switch-mode BEC on the market. The 6 volt output will give you more servo speed and torque than standard 5V models. It can support as many as six sub-micro servos. ParkBEC 6V is especially well suited for small helicopters and 3d planes, where extra response speed or torque are needed. It weighs only 6.5g and is designed for running parkflyer type aircraft with pack voltages up to 33.6V. The ParkBEC 6V installs between your ESC and receiver. You don't have to modify your speed control to disable its internal BEC, just plug the ESC into the ParkBEC 6V. It uses a switching type power supply to efficiently convert high pack voltages into a steady 6 volts. Additional notes If you are using small servos make sure they can run at 6v. Some sub-micros, notably the Hitec HS-50 and Futaba S3154, can be damaged by a 6v supply. For best results, ensure that the ParkBEC 6V is installed at least 2 inches away from your receiver and antenna. ParkBEC 6V is not compatible with 2s lithium packs. ParkBEC 6V cannot power multiple digital servos. Product Specs Model: ParkBEC 6V Specifications: Input voltage: 8V to 33.6v (3s-8s lithium, up to 21 NiMHs) Output current: 1.25A continuous, 1.5A 60 second peak.
