350ZNV 3 Bleeding Cooling System? NEED HELP ASAP!!!!!! Well, I installed an aftermarket thermostat on my dad's C6 yesterday, but didn't get around to re-filling the coolant yet. When I do, I suspect that I will have to bleed the cooling system to get the air out and I just want to see if you guys had any tips before I go in there blind. Is there a bleeder valve? Any other tips? Thanks in advance. Mike #1 · May 8, 2006 (Edited) Bleeding Cooling System? NEED HELP ASAP!!!!!! Replace with GM approved Zerex with the orange top, I forget the name and not Dex Cool. Dex is $hit and you can Google Dex Cool and law suit and hold on. The drain is sort of tricky to get to in is on the passenger side of the radiator. Remember to remove the filler cap on the resivor when draining. When you add the Zerex mix it 50/50 with distilled water or spring water and start the car after about a gallon goes in, you will have to watch it closely as it will want to back the fluid out of the res before the stat opens - just screw the cap back on. As it fills keep filling until it is about a half inch in the resivor, put the cap on and drive it until it is fully hot. let it sit to cool and top the resivor off to the mark on the resivor. There is NO other bleeding necessary on this car unlike the C4's and some other ones . . hope it helps.. olddog #3 · May 8, 2006 Nice. Thanks! #4 · May 13, 2006 Ok well I did what was suggested and it is still getting hot. I believe that there is air still in the system somewhere. Now I see two bleeder valves insde the engine bay, but I cannot tell if they lead to the radiator or the AC Condenser. Before I go purging these valves, can anyone confirm if they are or are not for the coolant system? I need this info ASAP as I leave for a week long road trip with the car tomorrow morning. Thanks. #5 · May 13, 2006 Exactly what year car are you doing? Insert Quotes Post Reply
