clcmbtn C Hi everyone!!! I just replaced my water pump on my Z. I can't seem to get the air out of the system. I searched here and found the tip on running it for a minute without the cap then capping and running more then repeat 2 or 3 times. I have done this and I still can't get the air out. Are there any other tips I should try? I have given up for tonight thinking if I let it sit maybe it will work itself out but I don't really see that happening. Need some help here.......... When I went back out to the garage, the lower hose was sucked closed. So I added coolant and started it and when it got to 220 the gauge started to dance back and forth from 220 to about 240. Thats when I shut it down and searched for you guys.... #5 · Sep 10, 2009 Sounds like your thermostat is in backwards! Show more replies 0 Reply #4 · Sep 10, 2009 Do you have the throttle body coolant tube? Should be a little rubber hose going to and from the throttle body. You can pull off one side and run the hose into a bottle to burp it. When it runs a solid stream without blowing air, you're good to go. #6 · Sep 10, 2009 I do have that hose jub jub. I never even though about that. I wasn't going to fool with it anymore tonight but I think I will go back out and try that. #8 · Sep 20, 2009 And the solution was??????????? :z: #9 · Sep 21, 2009 Yeah!! What happened??? You can't just come and ask for help and leave us hanging!1 We are trying to learn here! I'm doing my coolant soon and this is my concern. Thanks #10 · Sep 21, 2009 Up until 2004 the thermosat is part of the housing. How can you put in backwards--or am I missing something. Likewise the shop manual explains how to remove the air. Very simple start and stop cycle with cap on/off. Hope this helps and correct me if I'm wrong.:coo: #11 · Sep 21, 2009 Sorry everyone, I got bust at work and havn't had much time to get back on. I did what jub jub said and everything worked out jsut fine. And Melsy, you are correct in that the t-stat is part of the housing. Insert Quotes Post Reply
