12 May, 2021 @ 3:55pm Charge blade question with guard point and offensive guard I thought i was using the guard point right all the time (i use R2+triangle) but when i started using offensive guard i don't always have offensive guard activating when i parry. Anyone knows if offensive guard is on a cooldown after being activated the first time? Or does it have a different timing than guard point itself? Thing is offensive guard also triggers randomly when i don't guard point and just simply hold up my shield.

Originally posted by Shpeeno: Offensive guard activates if an attack hits your shield during a very small window of time when you first start guarding, it can activate from a guard point but only if you get it during that small window of time. If you're holding down block for a while and then doing a guard point, the window to activate offensive guard doesn't reset. You'll have to do a guard point after an attack or activate it very quickly after pressing the block button to benefit from the skill. < > Showing 1-8 of 8 comments

13 May, 2021 @ 2:16am You can also activate offensive guard by turning into the direction of the attack at the very last moment while you're blocking. #8 < > Showing 1-8 of 8 comments Per page: 1530 50 Monster Hunter: World > General Discussions > Topic Details Date Posted: 12 May, 2021 @ 3:55pmPosts: 8

Using the lance, I am able to activate OG by guard stepping while the attack never connects with my shield. Not sure if it is like that with CB though. #3
Originally posted by AfLIcTeD:No it's not. I played lance and the shield down guard is protecting you from all the direction with lance. With cb only the front part is protecting you and maybe a little bit on the sides. Basicly with cb you gotta get hit a few time if you're new so you know where the hitbox of the attack is. Like for Nergigante if he goes up in the air and you're below him you have to turn your back to him lol It's crazy but the move set is fun to play with. #4Originally posted by Shpeeno:Offensive guard activates if an attack hits your shield during a very small window of time when you first start guarding, it can activate from a guard point but only if you get it during that small window of time. Originally posted by AfLIcTeD:What? You literally can't activate Offensive Guard without some kind of guard. But like, guard dash is a thing on lance, you can guard dash through an attack and still get O.Guard to activate. Is that what you meant? #5Originally posted by Shpeeno:Offensive guard activates if an attack hits your shield during a very small window of time when you first start guarding, it can activate from a guard point but only if you get it during that small window of time. Originally posted by Snazzy Dragon:Yes. An attack comes, I guard step out of the way evading the hit and OG still procs. I've even had it happen with normal blocks, the attack missed me but it still procced it. #6Originally posted by AfLIcTeD:Actually the attack doesn't have to hit your shield. Originally posted by AfLIcTeD:I think it's linked to a button press tbh. I had it activate a few times after i got hit. Maybe it's just broken. At least now i can activate it all the time on purpose when i guard point. I used to hold guard and then guard point when the attack comes, now i got straight into guard point and it activates right away. Still there's sometimes a bug it activates after i get hit so it's weird. #7Originally posted by Snazzy Dragon:What? You literally can't activate Offensive Guard without some kind of guard.
