Grappling hook issue using controller

Made switch to PC recently. Using xbox 360 controller and works fine other than grappling hooks. Crouch does not detach the grapple. I was doing a honey run at the weekend and the only solution was to get onto a mount, and that detaches the line. This is going to be an issue in caves.

Anyone encountered this and know of a solution?

And before anyone answers K&M. I’m 40, been using controllers for over 20 years, you can’t teach this old dog new tricks! No desire to play PVP for any game on PC. It’s purely for PVE and SP games.

Even if you press the crouch button twice fast? On my controller i have to press the crouch button multiple times to detach the hook. (press down on the right stick in my settings)

Not sure if I tried double tap. Will check after work. Yeah, using right stick. Always works with a single press on console. But will try that later.

Maybe its the xbox 360 controller itsself? Do you have an xbox one controller handy? 

 

You might need to manually press this one button on keyboard

Daughters birthday in a couple of weeks. Xbox one controller is on her list so I will see then. If not then I suppose the only issue is if I need to do a quick grapple to grapple when using keyboard to dismount. We can build in caves or take pteras in as shoulder mounts, but I wanted her to beat them the old fashioned way first time.
