We think that everyone knows that bacon is the world’s most delicious food, but we also know that steak comes in a close second to bacon. Luckily, there is a way you can combine these two incredibly delicious foods into one taste explosion of a dish: a Bacon Wrapped Tenderloin Filet. This dish perfectly combines the buttery tender beefiness of a tenderloin filet with the crispy, salty, unctuousness of bacon. The next time you’re craving bacon, but want to load up on steak, try this recipe!
Ingredients
- 4 Leahy’s Angus Beef Tenderloin Filets (about 8 oz.)
- 4 strip LGCM Bacon (preferably thick sliced)
- Salt
- Pepper
Directions
Lightly season the top and bottom of your filets with salt and pepper, then place on a flat surface. Wrap a slice of bacon around each filet (use two if needed / desired), and then tie them with butcher string. We can provide you with string, or you can also use toothpicks, just be sure to take them out before eating. Let the filets rest while you prepare the grill.
Heat your grill to 400ºF, and set up for direct heat cooking. When the grill is heated, place the bacon wrapped steaks on the grill, and cook for 5-6 minutes on both the top and bottom, flipping once.
Cook until the steaks reach 130ºF internal temperature for medium rare doneness or 140ºF for medium doneness, and the bacon is crispy. If necessary, use tongs to hold the steaks over the grill with the bacon facing the heat to crisp the bacon. Remove from heat, and let rest 5 minutes before removing the string from the filets, and serving. Enjoy!
