70_Fastback I'm putting the pulley back on my power steering pump, and I didn't mark it before I took it off. It's a '70, 302 - original PS pump, etc. Can anyone measure the gap between the back of pulley and the face of the stamped mounting bracket - so I can use for a reference? Thanks a lot! #1 · Jul 19, 2008 I'm putting the pulley back on my power steering pump, and I didn't mark it before I took it off. If you are using a pulley installation tool it should have a stop so that you know when its on far enough. I've done this with a vise, some threaded rod, washers and a nut. Thread the rod into the shaft of the pump, position pulley, stack washer and tighten the nut. Not fun, but it works. #3 · Jul 19, 2008 That is an interesting question. My Grabber is sitting outside in the driveway. The pump shaft end is roughly an 1/8 of an inch inside the pulley center, not quite flush. If that helps. #4 · Jul 19, 2008 Mine is appx 1/8" or less inside of the pulley as well. It just didn't want to go anymore with the pulley installer tool - so I guess it's where it needs to be  Thanks for all of the responses guys! #5 · Jul 19, 2008 +1 flush  Insert Quotes Post Reply
