How To Get Bombs Without A Diffusion Beam In Metroid Dread

Metroid Dread has a bomb upgrade for the morph ball that can be collected without the diffusion beam. Obtaining skills is usually done in a specific order, but there are ways that players can skip ahead to get new abilities without having to wait or backtrack. Bombs are used in Metroid Dread to break down walls or destroy obstacles.

Normally, players need the diffusion beam before they can get bombs in Metroid Dread. Bombs are located in Dairon, which is accessed through Cataris. The Dairon generator needs to be activated, then players would fight a powerful Autclast, reach the missile door, and open it to find the bombs in the next room. For those looking to get the bombs early, there is another method that can be used to obtain them.

Metroid Dread features the morph ball, which can be upgraded to include the use of bombs. Players can unlock the bombs early on in the game to access new areas and abilities. There are a few steps to take in order to reach the bombs early, and the process also involves obtaining the grapple beam upgrade. Players will travel through Dairon and Astaria and defeat or avoid a few different enemies to reach both the grapple beam and the bomb upgrades.

How to Get Bombs Early in Metroid Dread

Metroid Dread Varia Suit

The bomb skip can be begun at the Newtwork Station in the southern central area of Dairon. Using Metroid Dread's Varia suit upgrade, players can enter the extreme heat room to the right of the Network Station. Destroy the missile block in the bottom right corner, then find the diffusion block in the next room. Break the block, and use space jump, damage boost off of enemies, or use flash shift to leap over the pool of lava. Go through the door in the southeast corner and break the beam blocks to enter Astaria.

Head east to reach the statue holding the grapple beam upgrade, then use it to move the box and swing to the other side of the room. Once players have the grapple beam, they can return to Dairon the same way they came from and get back to the Network Station. From there, go through the E.M.M.I. zone, being sure to avoid this deadly enemy, and reach the grapple beam block. Break this block with the newly acquired grapple beam, then head northeast to reach the room with the bomb upgrade. Claim the prize, and use bombs to open up new areas early.

There are a few ways to get upgrades early in Metroid Dread, such as skipping ahead to obtain the bomb upgrade. The process for obtaining new upgrades early usually involves hidden blocks or areas that players need to find and access. The game features many different weapons and abilities, which can be used to take out Samus' toughest enemies in Metroid Dread.
