How to Get Shaymin in Pokemon BDSP

Shaymin is only available by accessing Mystery Gift during a specific period.

Distribution Period
Pokemon Day February 27, 2022 - March 26, 2022

Here are the steps to get Shaymin:

1. Connect to the Internet
2. Open the menu and choose Mystery Gift
3. Choose Get via Internet
4. Choose Oak's Letter Gift
5. Go to Route 224
6. But wait, there's more!

After receiving Oak's Letter Gift, you can hold on to it until you're ready to encounter Shaymin, even if you wait outside of the distribution period. If you look at it in your Key Items, it says to meet Prof. Oak on Route 224. Go there, speak to Prof. Oak, and you'll encounter Shaymin down Seabreak Path at the Flower Paradise. This is no easy feat, though.

In order to get to Route 224, you must have unlocked the National Pokedex. Keep reading to learn exactly how to make it to Route 224.

How to Get to Route 224

Route 224 can be accessed from Victory Road, but only after unlocking the National Pokedex. You will also need the HM Strength.

First, fly to the Pokemon League. Then, travel down the waterfall to enter Victory Road from the back entrance. Follow the path and head down using Rock Climb. Go left, up, then left again by Veteran Edgar. Go up the stairs directly to the left of him.

Continue down the path to the right over the bridge, and you'll find the once blocked path now open. The next path is simply a straight path into the next area of the cave.

In the next room, you'll team up with Marley, who will heal your Pokemon between the many double battles ahead.

Your goal is the exit on the east (right) side of the cave. Head up, moving the boulders out of your way with Strength, and follow the path to the right until you make it out. Once you've finally emerged to Route 224, you still need to find Prof. Oak. Follow the path to the right, then go north once you see the Berry Trees to find Professor Oak.

Speak to him, enter the name of anyone you'd like send gratitude to, and Shaymin will appear. Follow the flowery path that appears to find it, and battle it to capture it.

How to Change Shaymin Form

Shaymin comes in its Land form, but actually has an additional appearance: Sky Form. Transform Shaymin by giving it Gracidea during the day.

Get Gracidea in Pokemon BDSP by putting Shaymin in your party and showing it to the blonde lady in purple just above the Pokemon Center in Floaroma Town.
