The Assassin’s Creed series is known for its stealth approach, taking out enemies without being spotted. But how to you stealth kill in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?

If you’re just starting out in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you may be wondering how to stealth kill enemies early on. The bad news is you’re unable to assassinate your enemies in the signature Assassin’s Creed style straight away. The good news is you’ll unlock the ability fairly quickly.

You can’t stealth kill in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla until you’ve completed the mission ‘The Prodigal Prince’. You’ll get here about an hour or two into the game, once you’ve sailed across the sea back to Eivor’s home town and completed a couple of missions there.

The Prodigal Prince gives Eivor their hidden blade, the signature assassin’s tool that’s required to stealth kill. A short mission will teach you how to use the hidden blade, practicing taking out dummies from various positions.

Once you’re equipped with the hidden blade, you’ll be able to use it in combat. Whether sneaking out on enemies from haystacks, approaching them from behind or air assassinating them, you’ll be prompted to carry out a stealth attach by pressing RB/R1.

With the hidden blade, Eivor begins their journey to being a true assassin. It might not be the Norse way to carry out combat, but it’s the Assassin’s Creed way – and it’s a lot of fun.
